- Description:
The bay formed by the south end of Manjack and Crab Cay is the most popular anchorage in the area. It is not uncommon to find 7-8 boats all vying for space, so it is important that vessels observe good anchoring etiquette when stopping for the night.
The anchorage is the best protected in the area and many cruisers will even ride out frontal weather here. Protection is good from northwest thru southeast and the holding is excellent.
The bay will shallow rapidly and becomes grassy in the north end so vessels anchoring in shallower water should be sure that their anchor is well dug in. The better holding will be found in +9’ of water close to the shore of Crab Cay.
