Vessel Type: Sail
LOA: 38'
Draft: 3.6'We were a bit concerned as we approached this bridge as we didn’t have local tide charts and we have a 65’ mast. There was only a 7 knot wind and there are water level boards on north & south bridge approaches although the 66’ marker is a bit hard to read (water stained). We anchored between the NC 55 bridge and the Alfred Cunningham bascule bridge (N35*, 5.991; W77*, 2.125) in 7-10 knot winds. Good holding and traffic noise was not an issue. Airport is close by. The 3 day-use only piers are gone & construction barges there so we tied dinghy up at New Bern Grand Marina Yacht Club, a secure area. We did not find a good Public dinghy tie up area. Maybe later in 2020.
