Boston, MA: Ocean Havens is excited to announce their fuel dock operation on Boston Harbor is rebranded as Harbor Energy. The businesses, formerly known as Harbor Fuels, offers marine gasoline, diesel, oil, additives, and more to recreational and commercial vessels on Boston Harbor. The name change reflects the company's vision for the future of the boating industry and the new alternative forms of fuel on the horizon.
"As we look towards the future, we know that 'fuel' may come in many different forms. As the industry evolves and new alternative, sustainable forms of fuel emerge, we want to be ready," says Ann Lagasse, Principal of Ocean Havens.
Harbor Energy will continue to provide marine diesel and gasoline and use Valvtect additives that improve performance. In addition to the marine fuels, Harbor Energy offers Jet A fuel for seaplanes and helicopters. The company's ten-thousand gallon mobile fuel barge allows for fuel deliveries anywhere in the harbor, including to Long Island, where they have delivered heating oil to the Boston Public Health Buildings. Harbor Energy also sells bait and tackle, ice, and removes spent oil.
Harbor Energy has already begun offering a Biofuel to customers, Renewable Diesel. Renewable Diesel is made from biomass feedstock such as used cooking oil and animal fats. This renewable diesel has a "high flash point" and is a "direct 'drop-in' replacement for diesel and meets all current ASTM D975 specifications for Diesel Fuel. Renewable Diesel is much better than petroleum diesels for the environment, burning cleaner and reducing emissions" according to Operations Manager Neal Nelson.
Harbor Energy is a fuel provider to the United States Coast Guard in Boston, Boston Harbor City Cruises, and the marine division of Boston Police and Fire.
