Cedar Key, FL
Cedar Key is a small town on Way Key, located roughly one-third of the way between Anclote Key and Carrabelle. The island was named for the stand of cedar trees that once grew here and are now gone (logged out) and now the town subsists on fishing, both commercial and sport.
Cedar Key is the top U.S. producer of farm-raised clams. You can find out more at the museum at the Cedar Key Museum State Park, which offers a nature trail, a 1920s home and artifacts depicting Cedar Key's history as a busy port.
