I cannot begin to say enough positive things about JPs Marine. Jim and Pam Stewart are likely the most friendly and helpful people we have met on the Great Loop. From the moment we arrived they treated us like long-time friends and did anything they could to make us feel welcome.
JPs Marine is a true full-service marina. Jim has a 45-year career as a marine mechanic, and he and his team are amazing. We had our hull damaged at another marina where a boat hit our starboard bow. The damage was 4"x24" and deep into the base of the hull. In just four days, Jim repaired the damage and buffed out the hull to the point where it looked like it never happened. I could not be more pleased with his work. While we were getting the fiberglass repairs done, my wife needed to fly home. Jim and Pam allowed to use the marina car to make the three-hour round-trip drive twice to the Syracuse airport. When Jim was pumping out our holding tank, he noticed it wasn't pumping properly and spent over an hour rinsing and pumping out the tank until it flowed smoothly.
The marina has easy access along the south side of the Alexandria Bay city dock, but the slips are a bit tight. But Jim and Pam were right there to help with the dock lines.
The marina docks are showing a bit of age and do not have conventional power/water pedestals. The water and power connections are at the shore end of the dock, which requires long hoses and power cables to get to the boat – both of which Jim provided so power/water connections were not a problem at all. There is a very well-stocked ships store on the premises with snacks and wide array of boat necessities. What parts they don't already have in stock, they can get in just a day or two. The marina was previously a Crusader Marine dealer, so Jim's inventory of Crusader engine parts is extensive. Because the Erie Canal lock walls made such a mess of our fenders, we bought four new fenders and lines at a very reasonable price. We also used the marina to have FedEx packages delivered to our boat.
The marina is just one long block away from downtown Alexandria Bay with all of its restaurants and shops. We dined twice at Cavallario's Steak and Seafood and enjoyed the outdoor dining and live music. The Korner Pizzeria and Eatery makes very good calzones and pizzas. There is a post office across the street, four blocks to an Ace Hardware store, and seven blocks to a laundromat. The immediate neighborhood area is moderately pet friendly, but it is just a short five block walk to Scenic View Park with plenty of room for our furry friends to romp. The park has a very picturesque view of Boldt Castle. The marina only has five slips, so call ahead early.
This is a marina that we will definitely come back to when our travels include the St. Lawrence River. Moreover, we will come back just to visit our new friends Jim and Pan Stewart.

Jim and Pam were great during our stay. Got to use their car to go to the store. Nice well equipped store. Jim helped us with a problem quickly. Did not use the shower facility and laundry available.

The facilities here were somewhat deteriorating. The marina staff was very good at getting us into a slip which could have been a little dicey under adverse conditions. There were very few power pedestals, and we required an extension to get us to the power source end of the far end of the dock (as was the case for our two other travelling companions) to connect. There were several electrical conduits sticking up through the floating docks, cut off (with rough edges) at the dock which implied that there was an intension to put pedestals in at some point, but that had not happened. The marine store appeared to be fairly well equipped. The marina is in easy walking distance to downtown Alexandria Bay, which was a plus. For the price of admission, I don't think I would return.

JP's Marine a full service Marina was awesome. Fuel, pump out and a slip to accommodate a 50 ft boat with 50 amp power. The staff there is excellent and they helped us install our new house bank batteries in the morning. We had a 20 mph crosswind component when docking in the slip and all hands were on Deck to come out and grab the lines. It's also conveniently located right downtown in Alexandria bay. They also loaned us a car for a short errand that we had to do. Jim and Pam run a great Marina and have an excellent attitude and great staff. A very enjoyable stay! After visiting Boldt Castle, we spent one night at JP Marine. The service was excellent. We had a minor electrical issue with our instruments. Jim, the proprietor, had one of his mechanics on the boat within 15 minutes, and the problem was solved less than half an hour later. I had some other work that I would have liked them to do--and they said they could do it the next day--but we had to move on to keep a schedule. However, if I had the time I would definitely have had them do the work.

The facility is small, and dock space is limited. But Jim and his crew are so very accommodating that the lack of resort amenities is easily surpassed by their good will.

They charge $1.50/ft, which includes electricity. The city dock charges the same amount with no power or water. So the price is right!

The facility is located in the southernmost entrance of the Alexandria Bay peninsula. Take the first left turn into the channel that runs alongside the public docks. We found 8 feet of water all the way (100 yards) to their fuel dock.

Since space is limited, be sure to call to make reservations if you're planning to stay there.

While cruising thousand islands we were tied up to the Alexandria Bay municipal dock (which was appreciated) however the charge is 1.5 a ft with no services. We moved over to JP's Marine - for no more $, received full water/power/showers/pump-out services. New owners Pam and Jim are extremely friendly, helpful, and they have a chandlery on-site. Convenient and highly recommended. Thank you for your excellent positive service. Best wishes.
