Nav Alert comment on BA: Exuma Sound, Large Uncharted Coral Head
Comment by: Rex W on Feb 5, 2021
Vessel Type: Sail
LOA: 43'
Draft: 5.0'That spot is actually on the bank, north of the Sound, between New Providence and Eleuthera. Even on Explorer charts, it is in an area clearly marked as Unsurveyed. As such, that is a high risk area and visual navigation only. Just over a mile west is a surveyed area with countless charted coral heads. Pretty hazardous neighborhood for anyone but a local.

Only reason for four stars is the 4:45 wake up call by a small group of workboats leaving. They pass close at 10 knots throwing a huge wake. Rafting is not recommended. Weekend traffic is pretty busy as well.

Marina Review for Spring Cove Marina - Solomons

We spent a long weekend at Spring Cove. The service was excellent from start to finish. They were quick to assign our slip and provided help to tie up and check in. The park like grounds are immaculate, as are the shore facilities. They have a nice pool with an outside bar, ships store with all the basics as well as gift items and an extensive book swap. Heads are clean and air conditioned. It is about a ten to fifteen minute walk to the downtown shops and restaurants.
