Goat Cay - Fresh Creek

Description:
Goat Cay is a favorite snorkeling location near Fresh Creek. Located within the boundaries of the North Andros Marine Park the reef is generally healthy, and fish are abundant. Note this is a no take zone. Fishing and shelling are not allowed.
In settled weather Goat Cay is a secluded spot that offers decent protection from all directions. Once the winds exceed 15 knots there will be a swell in the anchorage regardless of the wind direction. The bottom is grassy and it is important to search for pockets of sand in which to drop anchor.

Anchored here 2 nights. We fled Morgan's Bluff due to Strong Winds out of N. This was better but not great. Shallow water buffered the waves and we had excellent holding in deep sand. We were anchored very close to Goat Cay so we had to keep a close eye on the anchor. Anchor held nicely.
