It was a great spot to be "stuck" at. Free water is available with a short walk from a beach near the government dock. Great grocery store and restaurants and plenty of streets to walk and explore. No wind protection from west wind and go-fast boats from Staniel Cay zip through the anchorage. We anchored at 24°06'17.2"N 76°24'21.6"W.

Lorraine's Cafe has opened her new restaurant on the water. Not only is it beautiful, but the menu has been significantly upgraded as well. You can still get her Bahamian favorites, but think "Gastropub" menu and presentation. In addition, the SSCA just donated a Starlink to her. Now cruisers can get Starlink while dining.
The new marina has been built and hopefully will open soon. There is no fuel available yet, but the tanks and pumps are in.
A new town dinghy dock has been built and there are also docks available at Lorraine's, the laundry, BPYC, and Emerald Sunset. Groceries are available at 3 small stores and multiple restaurant options are present. Don't miss the blowhole.
Here's some pictures of the new dinghy dock, the Free Water fill for cruisers, and a few other things:

The anchorage has good protection from NE-S but in a SE-S winds you will get some wrap-around swell that can make it a bit rolly. Great holding in sand. The mail boat does come through the anchorage on a line running NW from the town dock so try to avoid that area while anchoring.
Not a place I would necessarily swim as we saw quite a few bull sharks during our week here, and the town dock regularly has fish being cleaned.
The sand bar/beach to the east is a great place to run a dog at low tide but just be careful if you go ashore there at high tide, you could end up carrying the dinghy quite a distance.
The laundromat here is the best we've used in the Bahamas, and the food at both Black Point Yacht Club and Emerald Sunset View is great. You should also check out the blow hole around mid -tide. It's a great one!
There is RO water and trash available at the town dock, and a donation to the local school is requested for their use. Overall this is a very cruiser friendly settlement!View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

As a few others have stated, it gets very rolly when you would not expect it. Even in a moderate SE breeze, there was quite a roll in the anchorage. The town is small but very accommodating. Lorraine's is a must stop, especially if there is an event going on. Minimal shopping available at a couple of small stores. The view from the blow hole is spectacular.

May of the workers from Staniel live on this island. It had good holding and protection from most wind except west. The town was small, but were able to get a few provisions. Docking with the dinghy there was a very tall exit to the dock up a latter.

There is a lot of wrap around swell or direct swell from all other directions. Also, the locals plow right through the middle of the anchorage full steam and wake boats throughout the day. However, everything else about the town is true... people are super friendly, the grocery store is convenient, holding is fantastic, and so forth. Neither BTC or Aliv offers LTE-A from this tower (only LTE).

A place where cruisers can outnumber the residents. The anchorage is large and can easily hold dozens and dozens of boats. Protection is good except from the West. The western portion of the bay is extremely shallow and provides a nice beach and sand bottom. The town itself has several small groceries with a nice selection of goods. Fresh produce after the mail boat arrives. There's a school, medical clinic, church, laundry, and several restaurants. Scorpios was very good and we loved Lorraine's. Don't miss her cruisers buffet - fresh fish, ribs, chicken, coleslaw, rice and beans, Mac and cheese, pound cake, pineapple and watermelon. Wow. And then stop in Lorraine's moms house right behind the cafe. You'll walk into her kitchen for the best bread in the Exumas. The people are friendly. The blowhole is certainly worth a visit. Cell is good for ALiV and BTC. The restaurants have WiFi for guests. Trash at the govt dock is by domain. Trash by the govt offices across the road is $5 a bag. There are several dinghy docks available in town. No fuel is currently available but a large fuel dock is under construction on the NE side of the bay. A nice stop!

Lots of room so even with 15 boats you did not feel crowded at all. After leaving all the craziness of Staniel Cay, Black Point was a great stop. Good access to town using the dinghy dock at Loraines. Stopped there for a rum punch before we walked through town. Couple of small shops, Adderleys had a nice selection to include some produce and blueberries which we hadn’t seen in awhile. Everyone we ran into was very friendly and welcoming. We stopped in DeShamons restaurant and had one of the best pizza’s I have ever eaten!!! Overall a great stop,

At the town dock with dinghy access at the west side is a trash collection against donations. Other dinghy landings a bit further west with docks for a well run self service laundry and famous Lorraines Cafe. A walk further west finds the Sunset View restaurant with good meals too. Some yards east is the small but well stocked Adderleys Friendly Market.
If you want to pass Dotham Cut, it can be wild with wind against outgoing current.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
