Turn to the west into the side channel at Green 159 and continue on past the Coxsackie Free Docks and Riverside Park and proceed up the center of the channel with no less than 10 feet MLW depth about 0.4 miles to the anchorage icon. Anchor at the icon in 11 feet of water MLW with excellent holding in sandy mud just short of the Coxsackie Yacht Club. Our anchor set immediately, did not move with the changing tidal currents, and came up with some vegetation that had to be removed but no mud on the chain or the anchor. The reversing tidal currents are estimated to be about 1 mile per hour a peak and the boat stayed in line with current with no problem. The anchorage is far enough up behind the island that wakes from river traffic should not be a problem. Waves and wakes were not a problem and protection from the wind was excellent with the exception of the north/southeast directions. We spent a calm and quiet night with only some faint noises from trains going up and down the other side of the river. Shore access is good at the town free dock located 0.4 miles downriver. Cellular service was very good. This is definitely a good anchorage for overnight as well as for longer stays.

Approached from the north. Only boat there, Anchor set quickly in 17 feet of water with mud bottom. Beware there is a tree stump that uncovers at low tide. It is charted, but not too accurately, from what I could tell.
