I anchored at the very end of navigable water in Back Creek in 8 feet. There's only room for one boat there, but it is VERY protected. Private property all around so no shore access, but very quiet. Anchor didn't reset after 180 degree wind shift so had to reset before going to bed in the dark. Set was just OK - could power it slowly backward, but the wind protection is so good it was enough. Soft, stinky, thick, sticky mud bottom. You better have a washdown hose and use it continuously. I stayed there for two nights waiting out unexpected bad weather on the bay. Barely even noticed in this hiding spot. Plenty of marinas and services a short motor away if you want it.

We anchored directly across from Spring Cove Marina, not where this Anchorage sign is showing. Tight Anchorage right off the channel for one boat. We stayed one night and experienced 35+ knot winds during a violent thunderstorm that passed through. Anchored in 10 feel with 90 feet of chain we held fine but with 40 foot length we were only about a boat length from shore on one side and docks on the other. Holding was very good in mud. We did not go ashore as it was a quick stop with thunderstorms, but we will be back. Be aware, that where the Anchorage sign is showing there is a large old commercial mooring in the best anchoring spot. That being said there are lots of places along back creek where one to several boats will fit.

We have anchored here several times. It has excellent shore access at the hotel dinghy dock. Access to restaurants and West Marine. A short Uber/lyft to the grocery store (1.5 miles). We anchor in this creek when thunder storms are expected. Have weathered storms here twice.

This is just the perfect combination of a quiet anchorage, and yet shore access to stores for groceries and West Marine. The shore access is provided by Holiday Inn which charges $2/day for the use of their dinghy dock, a bargain. They also sell ice and it's a short walk to a 7/11 type store. A full sized supermarket is only a 15 minute walk down the sidewalk.
