The shoreline is residential, but spread out with lots of trees. You'll get an occasional small boat passing by at low speed. Have not seen any work boats in the many times I've anchored here. One to two bars of LTE cell service. Can't address shore situation for pets. Last anchored here 9/21/2024. I'll be back.

We were well protected from the heavy seas and experienced calm flat waters just inside the creek, past marker "5". There is a strip of sandy beach perfect for the pooch to stretch his legs. WiFi? Nonexistent. Cell service (T-Mobile)? Nonexistent. We are traveling with another yacht that found great holding, while we dragged all night, re-anchoring several times in 35+ knots. The water was flat, but the winds were just righ to pull us, apparently. Not sure why as our anchor never failed us before. We probably should have gone farther up the creek, in hindsight.

Easy access and our Spade held well. Felt protected from the 10+knot overnight winds. Put the phones and gadgets away as there is almost no service.

The drawback is that there is no access to groceries, fuel, pump-out and water. The good news is that Ingram Bay Marina is very close (it shares the same entrance marker 2MC as Mill Creek, 6ft+ MLW. They have a courtesy car available for overnight guests to drive to town for food, hardware etc... Best fuel prices on the bay! It was worth a nights stay for the Wifi and other perks and of course a long hot shower was nice too!

The bottom is thick mud which you'll find on your anchor in the morning. When I weighed anchor, it was just a round ball of mud. I have a washdown pump at the bow for just such an occasion and it did the job. There is pet relief on the north shore by a 10 ft high clift with a sandy beach; just pick up after use. The sunsets are beautiful here, but there's nothing nearby for supplies.

When we visited August 2016, Jacey Vineyards winery was only open on Saturdays. There are a few beaches and coves to land the dinghy for dog walks.
