We got in with heavy fog so that was stressful but once inside the pond, it's super sheltered and calm. We used our electric scooters to go through all the roads on the island. Lots of fun. The views on top of the hill, where the WWII bunker is, are spectacular.
The raw bar crew comes to your boat every night and offers clam chowder , fresh Cuttyhunk oysters, clams and shrimps. It's a bit pricey but it is definitely worth it. These kids are awesome! Great summer job.
Will definitely come back . This will have to be a yearly thing now ;)-

We have been coming here for 40 years. The mooring pendants are about 4' above the ball making it easier to get a line through. The raw bar boat sell oyster, shrimp, and chowder, pricey, but good. The Harbormaster will pick up the $55 early evening. Be sure to have breakfast at the bass club. Hike up to the WW 2 bunker for fantastic views.

Harbormaster led us to where he wanted us to anchor which was a great experience. Anchor set well on 5 to 1 scope in 20 knots of wind and we did not move until we picked it upSo nice we stayed an extra day. Got chowder and oysters from the kids on the raw bar boat which while was a bit expensive was worth it, at least to us.

Friendly and knowledgeable harbormaster who is also police/fireman/animal control. Cooking lobster and lobster dinners on the dock as well as a raw bar boat that circles the mooring field.
Great walking throughout the island, beautiful views of Martha’s Vineyard as well as the roses and beach peas along the beaches.
Hadn’t been here in years but worth the early season stop on our way from Maine to NY.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
