Town Creek Cutoff is unusual in that it appears to have excellent depth from the entrance at the north end to the exit at the south end. In theory you could fit any number of boats but what is important is that there will always be room for one more so you can count on having an anchoring spot here at all times.

Enter Town Creek Cutoff South by leaving the channel at mile marker 341.5 taking care to leave sufficient room for the bar of the downriver tail of the island. Move up the center of the channel in 20 plus feet of water at the bottom of the island and then fluctuating between 12 to 20 feet all the way up to the anchorage icon where there was 18 feet of water. Above the icon the channel widens and the depths decrease to 10 to 15 feet in places for excellent holding with excellent wind, wave, and wake protection. There is a campground on the shore with several places to land with our pets. Care should be taken as the campground has a sign that says "Guests only". Cell reception good for all three carriers.

Anchored just past the 1st no wake buoy. A few recreational boaters came by slow. The current kept us straight after the west wind died down. Good mud. Located next to a park and camp ground.

Anchored in 18 ft of water between first 2 no wake buoys. Anchor hooked up right away Light current kept boat centered. Plenty of areas for dog. Fair Verizon. Didn’t try WiFi.
