We came in just before sundown in a light mist so the parking lot street lamp that nicely bisected the channel markers was well placed and helpful. We dropped the hook a few yards south of the line through the red buoys and held well. Would not venture too far afield as tree tops were visible south of us. Good spot to wait for a morning lock through at Fulton L&D.

The park has great walking trails and the Education Center in the park is worth the walk. There is a nice bike/ walking trail along the main road all the way to the lock. Supplies can be found in town, but it is a long 3.5 bike ride or walk. Pretty scenery. Some wakes from the fishing boats.
