We anchored 250 yards in front of the anchor icon in 7 foot MLW with good holding. The anchorage is quite open in all directions and wind and wave protection are just fair. We had less than 10 mph winds so this was no problem. Although the anchorage is a good distance off the channel, we were rocked by boats traveling at speed. Traffic dies with the sun so we had a good night's sleep but we can imagine that this anchorage will be rocky during the day on weekends in season. Cell service and internet were fair for Verizon and T-Mobile but AT&T only managed 1-2 bars of 4G service. There are several sandy strips along the shore to take Fido if necessary but real shore access is two miles away at Georgetown.

There is a bit of tidal current here, and minimal wind protection. The holding is fair. There are several little beaches to land on, and marinas up the river with full services.
There is a speed restriction on the water for Sat/Sun and holidays, and most people seem to adhere to it so the wakes are not bad at all.
This little strip gets VERY busy on the weekend with power boats anchoring and rafting up. Several camp out for the whole weekend and many more come and go all day long.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
