Review for Normans Castle

Vessel Type: Sail

Draft: 4.0'Overall Rating:3Holding:3Wind Protection:4Current Flow:5Wake Protection:4Scenic Beauty:4Shore Access:2Pet Friendly:2Cell Service:3Don't expect a castle or much in terms of ruins here. The anchorage is pretty and we found more sand here than some other Bight of Abaco anchorages. We found a bit of sandy beach near the anchorage, but still had to leave the dinghy out due to rocks. The only ruins we found were the pier ruins to the SE beyond the first point. It is shallow sand in that area and there are some pier debris in the water so watch your dinghy engines.
The island is heavily wooded in this area. We think you will need a machete or chainsaw to move inland and find any settlement ruins.
The highlight here were bottlenose dolphins that came up to our dinghy so keep watch.
There are no services here but you can easily get VHF reception to Treasure/Green Turtle/Manjack Cay areas
