Morgan’s Island West

Description:
Anchor in 7-12 foot MLW off the grass banks of Morgan's Island. Also known as Monkey Island, you're unlikely to see the monkey's in this location as it's quite far from the trees. Quite easy to access anchorage right off the ICW. Only a few small fishing boats came through the anchorage. Very quiet and secluded. No obvious place to get off the boat and government property.

Excellent holding. Boat will likely swing tide over wind, so you may find yourself doing some circles or pushed back against your anchor.

Great anchorage off the St Helena sound. Excellent for staging in/out. Pretty and quiet. Maybe a few small fishing vessels will pass by. Some current. Anchored in 15-20kt NE/E with great protection. Had moved from South side of Morgan Island/Monkey Beach as tide/wind from NE/E will put boat sideways to wind and current, spin you round and pull backwards on bridle. Both times we've stopped we've been the only boat anchored overnight.
