Very quite, there was 2 of us that anchored there and there was more than enough room. 9 foot depth, and low winds. Nice and quiet, we slept great.

The turn in from the icw was crowded with dredges, and there were a few barges beached near the entrance. Once past them, the way was clear to the anchorage. Winds were very light but holding was good. Depth was at least 9’ all the way to the banks. This was our first stop after departing Clear Lake, TX.

Review for Taylor Outfall Canal

Draft: 5.5'Overall Rating:3Holding:3Wind Protection:3Current Flow:3Wake Protection:5Scenic Beauty:5Ease of Shopping:1Shore Access:1Pet Friendly:1Cell Service:2WiFi:1This canal is about 150 feet wide and almost uniformly about 12 - 15 feet deep (at low tide) from shore to shore. Winds tend to blow North or South (side-to-side), so leave a lot of room in case the wind shifts, or use 2 anchors. Mud didn?t hold with solid reverse, but held well with moderate overnight wind. No wake, very remote, and no traffic except for an official-looking speedboat that went by every hour until about midnight, and resumed at about 6:00. This is marsh and reeds, so the mosquitos are fierce.
