Marina Review for Downtown Sanford Marina

We came for a week in late fall, and ended up staying 4 months for winter we loved it so much.
The facilities and docks are on the 'just fine' scale - a little bit in disrepair and on the old side, but quite manageable. But the rates are awesome.
The draw here is the access to downtown historic Sanford - which is one of the most charming places we've found in over 13 years of full time travels. So much to do with non-stop festivals, great dining, live music, two local theaters, bars, breweries and more.
And the amazing liveaboard community.
Just be aware of the midge flies - which can be quite severe when swarming. And the spiders that come out after them. And the birds that eat them and then poop on your decks. It can be a real problem.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is a marina to compare all others to - it pretty much has it all.
Fabulous staff, pool/hot tub, free laundry, exceptionally maintained docks & amenities, amazing catered parties & events (they don't skimp!), great lounge, vibrant cruising community, loaner bikes, free ice and walking distance to groceries & dining.
Just be aware that if you're staying at a monthly rate, they charge you by the size of your slip - not your LOA. And only 2 in-slip pump outs per month included ($15 extra each).
There's only one one bathhouse at the office - which can be quite the haul if you're not on A-dock. And there's often a wait for the 3 laundry machines. If there's anything that could be improved here - it would be adding a second bathhouse & laundry center by C/D dock.
We've stayed here a total of 3 months over 2018/2019 - and look forward to returning in the future.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Overall, a great live aboard community. Well maintained docks, walking distance to downtown, free beer daily (wine 3x a week), free laundry, loaner bikes, great bath suites and great lounge space.
We're knocking a star off however for lack of in-slip pump out - even to this day they advertise a DIY cart you can use for free. However, when we inquired they told us they discontinued that some time ago - and the only option is paying them $35 to come to you, or moving your boat to the fuel dock for a free pump out. Thankfully our dock was near the onshore facilities - but some are quite a walk!
We also were caught off guard by their .23/kwh electric rates - seemed steep compared to rates we've paid elsewhere. With temps peaking into the 100s, that added up quickly to a $200/month electric bill (most we've ever paid in summer months in Florida was $95/month for metered electric.)View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Brand new floating docks and facilities, outstanding shore facilities, free laundry, courtesy car, $10 Lyft ride to downtown, dining nearby and amazing friendly & helpful staff - you almost forget you're at a boat yard!
We stopped in to redeem some free nights stays we had won at a MTOA event - and ended up extending another week we loved it so much.
We did request a diver for a bottom cleaning upon arrival, and it was like concierge service getting it done. And we attended to some minor repairs of our own (after asking if we could hire the yard for them) - and it was amazing to have access to parts needed & helpful guidance offered.
After talking with others on the dock who were in for major service and interacting with the staff - we wouldn't hesitate to return here for our boat services in the future.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Marina Review for Sunbury Crab Co. Restaurant & Marina

Disappointed in making the diversion off the ICW for this stop. It was over 100 degrees out, and we kept reading reviews of a shaded swimming pool on another review site.
So our first disappointment was being told by the dockhands that the pool is actually owned by the restaurant owners, and swimming is by invitation only - and since they have family visiting, it was not available to us.
Only thing to do here is eat at the restaurant. It's ok food, not overly impressed with it - and overpriced.
So paid $1.50/ft to dock at a restaurant to spend another $60 on a meal, plus a total of 12 miles of extra time/fuel round trip to get here.
The food was good.. but not THAT good.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
