Since Fall of 2023 boaters have been advised that the 4pm opening, which has been in place for years at this bridge, and is in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 117.997(i) does not exist anymore. The bridge tenders advised us that their boss decided to eliminate this opening. I contacted the USCG 5th District Bridge Branch today and they advised me the 4pm opening is codified in the CFR's and would be contacting Chesapeake City to rectify this situation.

I have stayed at Ashley's many times over the years and unfortunately I have watched it decline to the point that I will not go back. The docks are rotting away along with a lot of the boats in the marina. At 7am when we were preparing to leave we realized we needed a pump out. We waited an hour for the marina office to open only to be told the pump out was broken, and had been for months. It's obvious that they are not putting any money into this marina. The dockhand was not much help either. He was more interested in making his morning coffee that he was in helping us get underway. We pulled our own lines and as we pulled away he came to the door with his coffee in hand and waved us goodbye.

Wow! What a great experience. Great family run business with new docks, electric, fuel, and pump out. They don’t really have closing hours because they live on site. This is great for anyone traveling during the long days when you want/need to make some miles and don’t want to stop at 5. Their ship store is like a mini grocery store with a great selection of fresh foods, beer, wine, and of course some boating supplies. They have broken ground for a new restaurant and bar. I can’t wait til it’s done and hope to visit again sometime soon.

I have stayed here twice this season. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms and shower were comfortable and clean. Great place to stop.

No one answers the phone. I have tried to stop here two times in the past 3 months and have had a tough time getting a hold of anyone. I tried to connect to the fuel dock, reservations, dock master and tried to go through the switchboard. Last time I tried to stop there the fuel system was down. Both times I had to go across the harbor where the service was great!
