Transient slips, like most marinas nowadays, are tough to come by, but the staff at Bluewater Bay Marina will do their best to fit you in. If you can't tie up to their docks, it's worth it to anchor out in Rocky Bayou and dinghy ashore to enjoy a meal at their wonderful on-site restaurant, the live music at LJ Schooners Oyster Bar, the brand-new washer and dryer, or their clean hot showers. Get your holding tank pumped out when you get topped off with fresh fuel. Got mechanical issues? Mayhew Marine Repair, right on the marina property, may be able to fix you up.

The adjacent city park is undergoing extensive renovation and access to land via the water in this area is not possible, even if you elect to anchor nearby. As a local resident, I will continue to monitor the progress of this project and post word of a completion date as soon as one is made public.

Renovations are finally completed! We stayed the entire month of November 2019 for a very reasonable dockage rate. For transients, the biggest changes include a good security gate for access to the docks and excellent bathroom/shower facilities. Unfortunately, there is no longer an on-site washer & dryer available. This marina's strong suit (other than the attentive, helpful staff) continues to be its great access to restaurants, groceries, beaches, the Pinellas bike trail and downtown Dunedin.

Transients who want to spend more than a day visiting the infamous Orange Beach, Alabama area would do well to stay here. Yes, it takes more than a cursory look at a chart plotter to figure out how to wind your way off the ICW, but it is very worth the effort. On site restaurants, covered slips, a courtesy vehicle, boat maintenance of every description, clean shower and laundry facilities, nearby grocery shopping and a post office . . . . you'll never want to leave! The well-maintained, eye-appealing tropical grounds of the marina do much to set it apart from the rest. And if the weather turns nasty, you'll be nestled safely and well-protected from wind and waves.

We had an excellent overnight stay here in June. Offered us the choice of a slip or the lay-along. A knowledgeable dockhand was available to assist. The marina is in a No Wake Zone of the ICW, making it very comfortable in spite of the transiting boat traffic.
A fabulous restaurant on site that has an ambiance that can accommodate both the casual and "fine" diners. Don't let the oyster bar moniker trick you into thinking they only have the typical "bar-food" menu!
The only reason we didn't give this a 5-star rating is because there are no shower or laundry facilities available. However, very nice, clean, and convenient toilets are provided for boaters.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

A wonderfully accomodating staff! The intimate, on-site restaurant / bar is a local favorite, and rightly so. The dockmaster will make a courtesy car available for those needing to go to town for provisions. In addition to having engine mechanics on-duty, there is a marine parts department at the marina as well. Be cognizant of the river current as you enter the short but narrow break into the marina basin. If you draw more than 3 1/2 feet, I would suggest using F-dock.

What a jewel this turned out to be! The friendly, knowledgeable staff immediately set the tone for our visit before we even reached our slip. All of the marina's facilities are in great shape; the docks, boater's lounge, laundry room, showers, fuel dock, bar-b-que grills and picnic area are beyond reproach. You'll find everything from boat shoes to boat wax, and everything in between, in the well-stocked Ship's Store. The onsite maintenance facility can provide an expert to help cure whatever ails your vessel. Within walking distance from the marina are numerous eating establishments, shops, pubs and even a first-rate public library. You can spend the better part of a day at the nearby Wisconsin Maritime Museum learning about the city's role in churning out submarines for the U.S. Navy during World War II. One of the most enjoyable, scenic bike trails we've ever ridden comes right by the marina and continues for seven miles along the lakeshore to the city of Two Rivers.

We purposely came here because of its close proximity to the city of Green Bay. The marina's large picnic pavilion and the spacious, fresh shower rooms are noteworthy features. The marina has very nice lay-alongs for transients, but call ahead to reserve space (920-847-2454). In spite of its remoteness, they apparently stay near capacity. Currently managed by The Jackson Harbor Inn. Shore power and picnic tables are found dockside, but NO potable water, shower facilities, wi-fi or cell phone service are available, so plan accordingly. There are several tasty and reasonable eateries to choose from, a good laundromat, public library, grocery store, and even a single screen movie theater. If you enjoy history, treat yourself to an extraordinary museum at the home of Frank Murphy, former mayor of Detroit, 1st governor general of the Philippine Islands, Governor of Michigan, U.S. Attorney General, and U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Patience is the watchword when trying to get directions or information from the part-time summer help at any marina. The fact that they have docks on both sides of the river doesn't help, and that some are technically in the city of Fairport while the others are in Grand River. Only the slips on the Grand River side have access to bathroom and shower facilities, which are locked and inaccessible between sundown and sunrise. Wakes from boats coming and going from other upstream marinas taper off considerably after sunset.

The three most important things for any business are location, location, and location! This marina puts you within walking distance of everything that downtown Cleveland has to offer: the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, every type of restaurant you can think of, shopping, movie theaters, live entertainment, historical sites you never knew about, professional baseball, football, and basketball games, museums, and even micro breweries! The "Rock & Dock" may be considered just a place to "park" your boat, without normal marina services such as fuel, a pump-out or a ship's store. But the floating docks are well-maintained, the restrooms & showers are clean, and the entire facility is very secure. And for the doubtful souls that haven't been to the city in the past six years, go check it out: Cleveland Rocks!

For such a large marina, the setting felt rather intimate, probably because it is surrounded by a park on one side and very nice condos on the other. As their website suggests, stop at the fuel dock on your way into the basin (starboard side) to check-in at the dockmaster's office. You'll need to get the security key for your dock gate. Although the docks are fixed, they are in very good condition. Fingers are long enough to allow our 36 foot Grand Banks to tie bow-in and still get on & off the boat. We were pleasantly surprised to find the bathroom and shower facilities in such nice, clean condition, especially since we were here over a very busy July 4th. And the air conditioned bathrooms were a big bonus! They were about 100 yards from our slip, but conveniently located right next to a bar, a hamburger joint, and a great ice cream shop! There are several eating establishments within walking distance, both beach casual and dockside "dining". Great view of the lake and breakwater as you stroll along flower lined sidewalks.

This stop was truly a pleasant surprise! Used the marina's excellent, free loaner bikes to ride on the beach AND to get provisions at Harris Teeter's. Didn't realize this island was such a family-oriented vacation destination. April is the beginning of their "high season", so daily transient rates are steeper now thru summer; much more reasonable in the off-season. The adjacent Morgan Creek Grill is very busy in the evenings but serves excellent food. It has two distinct dining rooms, each with its own separate menu (formal vs. casual). Because of its location, water current has little affect on most of the transient lay-along dock.

There's no denying that the city Beaufort is a fabulous place to visit! Waterway Cruising Guide thoroughly, and accurately, sings her praises! The most helpful piece of advice I was given: Before getting there, take the time to look at a tide schedule and develop a docking strategy not only for your arrival, but your departure as well. Other than the peak slack period, the current really rips through this marina.

Although this marina suffered major hurricane damage in 2016, it is still open for business, albeit on a limited basis. Call to reserve one of their four lay-along docks or pick up a mooring ball and go enjoy this interesting, historic town. It has more great restaurants within walking distance of the marina than any town north of Miami! The Island Hopper Shuttle will take you to get provisions, do your banking, or even drop you off at the movies for only a buck! The marina staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

If you enjoy the peace and quiet of an anchorage but want the amenities of a marina, this is a fabulous place to stop! Take a stroll along the Atlantic ocean, a hike through a nature preserve, or interact with bottlenose dolphin across the street at Marineland Dolphin Adventure. Clean, roomy showers/bathrooms and good washers/dryers. Dockmaster and assistant are extremely helpful and accommodating.

After hailing the office on CH 16 for our slip assignment, I was given the clearest, most logical directions ever given to me over the radio! This set the tone for the rest of our stay! The fuel dock is easily approached. Secured gates for each dock. Showers and boater's lounge facilities are also secured and kept very clean. Pet owners will enjoy the convenience of the adjacent dog park. Safe, easy walk to "Main Street" businesses. Overall, it's a very pleasant place to stop and catch your breath after a long day on the water.

The staff graciously handled our last-minute request for dockage. A very protected marina, located in a beautiful planned community. Loved walking through the neighborhoods on our way to a nearby strip mall. Loaner bikes available to help with provisioning at the local Publix. We echo the other sentiments regarding the well cared-for showers, lounge and pool. Liked it so much that we stayed an extra day. Entry channel may be considered narrow by some, but as of this writing it is well marked.

Made reservations the week prior. Probably would have enjoyed staying here IF we could have gotten some assistance when we arrived. Idled in the marina basin area for an hour, waiting for the Dockmaster to direct us to a slip. He was apparently task saturated with two boats that arrived before us. The office staff that answers the VHF radio is either not knowledgeable enough, or not allowed, to answer any questions regarding dockage. Our experience is that it does not appear to be a very efficiently run marina. So sad, because it looks like it could have been a fun stay.

A great option if you don't want to anchor out. The city has made using this unattended lay-along as hassle free as possible (see website). Dock is in good shape with power and water available for only $1 / foot. Literally almost a stone's throw from the Moore Haven Lock.

This is not just a "marina" in the traditional sense. On first visit, you get a sense that you've stumbled upon some sort of little utopia. This is a community! It's more than dockage, or fuel, or a restaurant. It is a respite for the weary cruiser, a chance to get off the boat and take long walks along the water or admire the greenery of beautiful, well-manicured lawns. It's where friends gather to sing karaoke unabashedly, drink beer, and drive golf carts into the night without fear of being put to the test of a breathalyzer. This is a place where many a boater has visited, only to return permanently.

This is the Gold Standard by which all marinas should be judged; a first-class operation. Professional, courteous, helpful staff. In spite of being surrounded by boats over twice our size, we were treated like the most important boaters there! Shower and laundry facilities are unmatched. Transient dock is a floating lay-along, convenient to the bathroom, laundry, and office facilities. Very nice & secure upstairs showers as well as a dayroom with cable t.v. and large book / dvd exchange. Only a short walk to the center of downtown Gulfport for various types of restaurants, a post office and city library. Trailhead for the Pinellas Bike Trail is only 1 mile away. Staff is trying to use Dockwa as the primary means for making reservations, with mixed results.

The best things about the marina is their proximity to good restaurants, groceries, the bike trail, and downtown Dunedin. Also, they have a FREE washer & dryer! Bathroom facilities are not being cared for regularly. A major renovation project on one of their Hi & Dry storage buildings will limit the availability of transient slips between February and December of 2018. The staff has already stopped taking reservations and implemented a “first-come, first-serve” policy for transient dockage. The marina director has said the policy will continue until the project is completed.
