Lovely stop that we almost didn’t make on our way south on the ICW. We were planning on anchoring in our 38’ trawler but we lost the impeller on our gen set so decided to stay the night and fix it on the dock - so glad we did. What an absolutely gorgeous location. The restaurant was not open on Monday but we didn’t care, we are very self contained and we grilled on the top deck and thoroughly enjoyed the views of the marshes. The dockmaster (owner, maybe?) was right there to greet us and we were one of only a couple boats on the long face dock. Easy on/off, current was mild. Plenty of water in Kilkenny creek and dockside. Facilities are basic but the cost was very fair. About $60 for the night including 50amp hookup. The docks were in fine condition when we were here. And a nice addition was the fact that about 50 big white egrets roost in the tree directly next to the dock. If you are a bird lover it was quite a neat site to watch them all fly in right over us at dusk. We will most likely stop here again on the way back to thunderbolt.
