G129 appears to have been moved a couple hundred yards north of former location opposite the "tongue" of deepest water coming from Motts Channel towards the ICW. G129 had been my target for entering/leaving Motts Channel to go up to anchor out in Wrightsville Beach. Used my trusty old Navionics track and at an hour after low tide saw no less than 12 feet. Don't see why they moved G129.

Dropped hook 400 yds S of G3 in 8.5 ft at low tide, range was 9 ft. The crab pot floats are gone! Saw one shrimper coming in at dawn, got mildly waked. A few biting flies.

Dropped my 29 kg Vulcan and 100ft 5/16 chain in 8.5 ft depth with 5 ft freeboard from anchor roller, 400 yds north and 400 yds east of bridge, backed down and snubbed, in constant 15-20kt SE winds. Hobby-horsed all night, dragged about 50 yds west by sunrise. Would have to go another half mile east to get any wind protection from ESE to S winds, didn't check depth that far in.

I anchored in 8' just off twin condos about 1/2 mile S of free dock. Been here a week, with winds from all directions and up to 26 kts, haven't budged. Easy dinghy ride to free docks, or to Griffis Landing NE of bridge, in all but S or SE winds when fetch grows chop. Marina N of bridge not friendly to anchored boaters, refused access to laundry/showers. About 1/2 mile from Griffis Landing are Publix, Home Depot, CVS, Chase, Pet Suprmkt, and a few restaurants.

Dropped hook halfway between G1 and G3 about 30 ft inside of channel in 11 feet with 80 ft chain. Stayed 4 days. Current kept us aligned with channel except with N winds at slack tide we were blown just 30 feet from private docks. So moved to S of Harris Saxon bridge.

Easier than it looks to get into on a calm day. Fixed docks. With my boat drawing 5’2” it seemed to sit on the mud at some low tides. The dock master Josh was super helpful with tying up as I am singlehanding, also he lent me a portable heater for some cold November days. Marina manager Marcy also terrific for customer service linking me up with service manager Nick, diesel mechanic Mark, and electrical technician Scott. Everyone very capable, responsive and friendly. Stayed in a slip for a couple weeks before being hauled out and shrink wrapped for the winter. I arrived from my home port at Safe Harbor Jefferson Beach Marina in St Clair Shores, Michigan.
