Marina Review for Chestertown Municipal Marina

This is not our first time at the marina. Paul, the dockmaster, met us at our slip and quickly got us secured to the dock while the wind was blowing us off the dock. The dock he assigned us was direct line of sight to the WiFi antenna for the marina on land (cellular on the dock was typically one bar, should have enabled WiFi calling prior to arrival). Upon checking in at the office, he gave us a welcome back with information and coupons for local businesses.
The bathhouse is clean, with two showers each for the men and women. The one drawback is the inability to control water temperature in the sinks (men take a mirror when showing if you need to shave).
The floating docks are in good condition.
The restaurant next to the docks, 98Cannon, can be loud in the evening but closes currently around 10pm.
While there are a number of warning markers in the river near Chestertown requiring a 6kt limit, many bow runner type boats disregard the limit and the resulting wakes can rock the docked boats which are parallel with the river.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is not our first time at the marina. We called ahead for our slip assignment, which was good as the dockmaster/dockhand were not at work. If entering the marina using the first fairway, stay to port and heed the warning markers. Docking at the marina is typically straight forward; recommend downloading the marina map from the website. The office at the Inn provided bathhouse codes and WiFi passwords.
The bathhouse is clean, and the laundry has a washer and dryer, $1.00 per load.
The marina is a nice walk to the small-town center with shops and restaurants (the marina’s restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). Haven Harbour next door has a ship store if needed and can be accessed via dinghy or walking.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is not our first time using this fuel dock. Th fuel dock is located on land at the end of a fairway and there is really no room for waiting boats. Having used the fuel dock previously, we radioed ahead to determine if the dock was available before entering the marina.
The dockhand was very helpful in getting our boat secured to the fuel dock, fueled and pumped-out. The marina offers a bulk discount for purchases over 100gal.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is not our first visit to the marina. Upon arrival at the marina, Tim and Matt met us and quickly got us secured to the floating dock. The power required a 50amp to 30amp adaptor, which we carry. The dockhands also brought our welcome package and keycard for the gate to the boat.
The bathhouse and laundry are outside the gated docks in the office across the boardwalk. The restrooms were clean.

This is our first time visiting the marina. Contacted the marina on VHF channel 16 and was provided direction to our T-head assignment. Susan met us and helped us get tied-up and power to the boat quickly in the rain. And later she got us checked-in and provided an overview of the amenities. The rest rooms were clean, with individual rooms with a sink, toilet and shower (for the men noticed four under the office and two next to the pool). The laundry room (under the office) hosts one washer and two dryers and Susan had quarters if change was needed. We found the washer and dryer slower than expected and the cost for $1.50 each.
The floating docks are in good condition, with some listing. WiFi is in transition between providers, but available. Power and water were good dockside.
The marina is within walking distance of a café and a couple of restaurants.
The marina is also located next to a drawbridge that opens on signal and was very busy on the Saturday we were there. The bridge traffic noise was not bad at night.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is our first time visiting the marina. Contacted the marina on VHF channel 9 and was provided guidance on entering the Delaware City Branch Channel from the Delaware River. It is important to heed this local knowledge as low tide provides very thin water along the banks. In addition to the parallel docks running along the northern side of the channel there is the Delaware City/Fort DuPont public boat ramp on the south side which you may come upon quickly.
The dockhands provide expert assistance in docking and getting power hooked-up quickly. The marina is a single long dock for transients. The bathhouse was nice and clean. The WiFi was not working due to a recent storm, but with our cellular booster our cell phones provided a suitable substitute as a hot spot.
In the afternoon the marina hosted a captain’s meeting to provide weather/tide/current information and local knowledge for those traveling down the bay to Cape May. While not continuing down the bay on this trip, we found the information useful and added another website (NOAA’s Operational Forecast System) to our tool bag. Thanks Tim and Tristan.
The marina is a short walk to food (we recommend Kathy’s) and shopping. Some stores and the ferry to Fort Delaware are only open on weekends.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is not our first stay at the marina. We arrived early afternoon and the dockmaster Shawn met us as we pulled in. He was quick and professional to get us secured to the floating dock and power hooked-up. He returned a couple minutes later with our paper work and bathhouse code.
The marina has two bathhouse rooms for transits, simple and clean. There are two downsides to the bathhouse: first users must walk through the out-door dining area (tables right next to the doors); and the rooms lacked sufficient air conditioning. An interesting note is the room on the left has a single shower, sink and toilet while the right one has two showers, single sink and toilet.
The WiFi worked well.
The on-site Tiki-bar provides good food.
Upon departing prior to the Dockmaster office opening we could not find a place to dispose of our recyclables.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Tolchester Marina
This is our first time at the marina. As part of the reservation process via Dockwa the staff ensured that we knew there were no food amenities available after 5pm on Sunday (day of arrival) and until after our departure on Tuesday. This was good information and we planned accordingly.
Arrived on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at approximately 1pm and noticed that the entrance to the basin was very busy. Was unable to contact the marina via VHF but was able to receive a slip assignment via cell phone. A dockhand at the fuel dock was able to provide directions to the slip. While not all slips had easily identifiable numbers, a dockhand was able to point out the slip and provided assistance with initially securing the lines to the dock. During check-in, the dockhand provided our WiFi and bathhouse information. He also advised us to contact the office if we needed any assistance, including fuel Monday through Thursday.
Our slip was located within one of the covered sheds with fixed docks. The finger pier was full length and in good condition, even though we noticed several requiring attention. The floating docks are in very good condition.
It is evident that this is a destination marina for folks on the weekend looking for a nice beach and pool and many day boaters were departing shortly after the beach bar closed at 5pm.
The bathhouse, laundry and pool are available to transits. The bathhouse is clean and appears to have been remodeled recently. A downside in the men’s bathhouse is one shower stalled lacked a door (all three had curtains to minimize water on the floor outside of the shower) and one lacked water pressure and hot water (third shower was a charm).
Slips under the sheds provide nice protection from the sun. For nature views the floating docks (Santa Rosa) on the southern side of the basin provides potential views of eagles, osprey, ducks, buzzards, racoons and deer (all seen during our stay).
The free WiFi was good, but cellular connections can be spotty, even if booster is used. Recommend cell phones be configured by WiFi calling if offered by your carrier prior to arriving at the marina.
This is a good marina for transits heading up or down the bay. It is also a nice marina for folks wanting quiet during the week. Just remember, currently there is no one site food service Monday through Thursday, so pack accordingly.

Arrived on April 23 and the Dockmaster Josh was very helpful with our pump-out and docking. It is always a pleasure to visit the Museum and the docking in St Michaels is second to none.

First time docking at Annapolis. Annapolis Yacht Basin staff are very professional from the first interaction on the phone to reserve a slip to arrival to handling the fuel dock. The day before we were scheduled, we contacted the marina to ensure that we could arrive early due to the weather forecast. The weather was beginning to deteriorate as we arrived; the dockhand was skilled and ensured that we were adequately secured prior to moving onto the next arrival.
The assigned slip had a 50amp connection, which was not a problem since we carry adapters. The staff offered an extra power cord if necessary. The office has general information about Annapolis, and provides the bath house keys. If leaving before the office opens, there is an expectation that the keys be placed in a drop box near the office wrapped in a paper to identifying the boat; this could be replaced by numbering the swipe cards with a sharpie. The bath house was simple, small, and clean.
Docks are fixed and with the fall water levels, could be a challenge depending on the boat.
The marina is within walking distance to many restaurants, shopping (CVS, small shops, and spirits/wine/beer) and the Naval Academy (sorry go Air Force and go Army). A true grocery would require a ride.
If visiting Annapolis in the future, this would be our first choice to seek a slip.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

As this was our first trip by boat to Chestertown; the newly renovated A and B docks at Chestertown Marina helped make a pleasant stay. The power pedestal was for a single 50, requiring use of an adapter for our single 30. We provided our adapter, not sure if the Dockmaster had any for loan.
The marina is currently closed on Mondays, so the Dockmaster staff sent our slip assignment on Sunday. Docking without assistance was not difficult thanks to the floating docks, but awareness of the wind and current is essential. As the docks are on the river, do not be surprised at what floats by, including wood planks. Depending on the slip assignment, there is a great view of the river and periodically row teams could be seen.
The bath house, while simple, was clean and warm. It is located a short walk from the docks.
Located at the bulkhead is 98Cannon. From what we could tell, this is one of two restaurants within walking distance of the marina. The food is average to good, but the view of the deck is nice. The other restaurant, The Kitchen is also good. There are also a number of small cafés within walking distance for breakfast, lunch or coffee.

Stopped for diesel and pumpout. Arrived just prior to 9am opening finding attendant putting fuel price sign up on creek side of dock, indicating diesel at $2.91. There was a boat already docked in the middle of the fuel dock, but no one with the boat and the attendant was not sure why it was there. Was able to maneuver to the Swan Creek end of the dock and secure to refuel and pumpout. Attendant was professional and offered a BoatUS discount. Downside, it appears that the price sign posted was not accurate; reviewing receipt reflected price of $2.99 which was less than $2 difference due to the small amount of fuel needed. When I called the office to point out the difference (not asking for a refund of the difference or any compensation) the response received less then caring. Lesson learned, double check the pump itself prior to fueling.

Arrived on 13 Oct and asked if the pumpout was available 24/7, which the dock hand confirmed. What was not conveyed until we were docked early the next morning at the pumpout was the need to obtain a token for $5 from the office. As we were also looking to fuel-up, we passed on using the pumpout.
Otherwise we always enjoy staying at Osprey. Our first was with a rendezvous in June 2016 (we also took delivery of our boat here in December 2014). The dockhand was very help with securing the boat and hooking-up power. The docks and facilities are maintained in good shape. The only down side at times is the bird poop on the docks (a pain when jumping on and off the boat during docking, and attaching power and water), which we would have cleaned-off once secured and got our hose connected. The marina offers a BoatUS discount for transients and the welcome packet provides adequate details on the facility and Rock Hall, which is a very walk-able town (or a tram is available for $1 per person until October or November). Onspot provides the wifi for the marina. We have eaten dinner at the restaurant and have always been happy. We highly recommend the scallops!! Haven Harbor fuel dock had the best price for diesel along our cruise course with a volume discount. Access to the dock from the creek is through a fairly narrow fairway, so slower is better when approaching and coming along side of the dock. If another boat is already at the dock, better to wait in Swan Creek and be called in by the staff. Location is great with minimal potential for rocking from wakes.

Docking at the museum is well worth the membership. We have been members for five years, and using the docking privilege provides us access to the museum and it is a short stroll to the main street and restaurants. The Dock Master is very knowledgeable and all the staff is helpful
