The crew of Living the Dream (Larry & Mary Bailey) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Trent Port Marina. We had originally intended to stay only one night, then extended to 2 nights, and ultimately stayed 4 nights. The town of Trenton, ON is wonderful and welcoming. We visited the Farmers Market, local groceries for provisions, several restaurants, the cinema, the Chamber of Commerce, the local Bank, and other local businesses. The marina itself is 'like new' condition, spotlessly clean, luxury showers, and excellent WiFi. Marina staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Amenities at the marina included outdoor gas grills, picnic tables, and as well as a marine supply store with on duty mechanic (which we used for some much-needed repairs; Watercraft Marine Dave Gartshore was the awesome!!) We'll be back if we travel this way again!

Save yourself some time and look for any other marina in the area unless you have $2,000,000 liability coverage which is a requirement at this marina in 2021.

Update from Marina Management:
'We have discussed the issue of liability insurance with our insurers and the municipality that owns Trent Port Marina and we are prepared to handle insurance on a case by case basis. In the case of American flagged boats, we will be happy to make an exception and accept $1 Million liability. We sincerely apologize for the confusion this has caused. We were unaware that our policy had presented issues for American vessels. We hope to welcome you to Trent Port Marina soon.'
Marina Response:
Trent Port Marina requires $2 Million liability from all of its seasonal boaters. It's standard in Canada and our boaters have no issue obtaining it. The cost increase from $1 Million is only about $25 in most cases. However, since we implemented the $2 Million liability policy, the CanadaI/US borders have been closed and we were unaware that our American friends are unable to easily obtain that coverage. We are working with the City's insurance department to come to a solution so everyone coming from the US can visit us as soon as possible. We will have more information very soon so please watch this space! In the meantime, we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Thanks for the opportunity to respond.

Marina Review for Half Moon Bay Marina

Exactly as advertised with additional features. The local town is a very neat place to visit, especially if you don't mind a little exercise. We walked everywhere including the scenic trail to the damn. The restaurants and bars were excellent. We highly recommend Tapsmith (where you can get the local scoop from the owner Tracy Shea). We stayed at Half Moon Bay for 2 weeks while we took a side trip out west. We felt very comfortable leaving the boat with Steve who was very gracious in delivering the many Amazon packages we had arranged. Great marina and great town with lots of friendly folks.
