Good: Beautiful marina, very nice and well kept docks. nice lounge and shower facilities. Nice location next to (dead in November) shopping street.
Poor, we realise we are back in the Florida panhandle area (and Alabama) so prices creep up. BUT: $163 for a 45 ft boat, including (??%) AGLCA discount, a 16%!! Orange Beach lodging tax and 3.5% credit card fee!! Poor directions by VHF attendant, as if we were bothering her. No dock help offered (did not need it, but we did not know that on windy approach) (3 dockhands were lounging in the office we noticed later). Needless to say, we should have just anchored somewhere.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

November 1, 2024. The visitor center is open at the published times, we visited today and it's definitely worth it, lots of history and neat to walk a replica Antebellum home. The lockmaster let us anchor here (ask first) and even let us get alongside the little (worn) dock, which made for a great night! Plenty of water (6-7 feet)

Lock comment on Jamie Whitten Lock & Dam

Draft: 4.5'Comment is on earlier review. We locked through 4 days later and used the West wall (RDB) going down. Many leaks and waterfalls (mainly through the manhole covers halfway down) East wall appeared to be without large leaks. We recommend using east wall (LDB)

Marina Review for Lands End Marina

I drove by, by car yesterday as I could not believe their low Diesel price ($3.95) and yes, the price was that low. I asked the attendant if price would change anytime soon as I would come in that afternoon or next day. 'dont worry sir, we won't change price for a while'. So this morning we crossed the Bay to fill up our thirsty trawler (400 Gallons) and upon arrival they had changed the price to $6.02. A more than 50% overnight increase. As I was running on fumes, i took 50 gallons and now back at Harborage marina where I will fill up tomorrow for $4.95. My bad for not calling then this morning, but 50%. Going from cheapest on the bay to one of the higher ones.
