My family and I were coming in from Charleston and the previous night at anchor . I called the marina and spoke to Ana who was so very nice and very friendly and helpful she even gave me her cell in case we needed anything because we were coming in after hours. Docking ended up being very easy we were on the fuel dock which is like 600 ft long !! Current was on our bow so it was easy to motor in . We went to the restaurant there which was very good the filet was RIDICULOUSLY Amazing!!! Trevor was our bartender and order taker ( we ate by the pool) Trevor was great and made some of the best rum runners I have ever had. The pool is not heated so short swims are likely this time of year lol. Laundry facilities are easy to access and they're only $1.50 for a wash which is pretty cheap and awesome!! Showers and restrooms top floor but very nice and clean and provide free body soap . Walter was our dockmaster and all around awesome guy very nice very friendly extremely helpful . Walter is the guy that My husband and I would have a beer with any day . We also got to meet Cody which was also a real pleasure we only briefly got to work with him on departure day but both gentlemen seem very happy in what they do and it shows. I appreciate an amazing customer experience more than words can describe. Should we return to the area next season we would 100% stay here but for longer .
A tip to any cruisers reading this Brunswick marina landing isn't too far from this Marina the prices are almost nose to nose but this marina is Morningstar is 100 times better then BLM the staff is more professional and just nice people and the amenities are better here , st Simons is a better and safer town altogether . Morningstar is kid friendly and pet friendly ?? Do yourself a favor stop on by get some food and go for a nice bike ride at MorningStar marina
BLM is not kid friendly and don't really care much for transits , the staff is ok ... Mike the owner is the only one that knows customer service.
The marina itself is in a horrific part of town where delivery service is refused and you don't leave the marina past dark on foot or bike. Dominoes won't even deliver once the sun starts to set . For whatever reason that place receives great reviews BLM is nice in the facilities lounge and bathroom free laundry but unless there was an emergency I would answer before I would stay there again.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

I hate not leaving a great review but I do want others to have fair warning. The marina is convenient to Publix and not a far bike ride to downtown which is very nice . The Staff, Sam and Max, are absolutely wonderful. They are very nice and helpful . Unfortunately, that is where the good stops. The marina offers amenities on their website but do not actually have them . They say they have a lounge online and they do not have one any longer. No lounge makes boat projects hard and when it's been raining you can't lay things out on the docks to do the projects either. The website offers free transportation to the town. Staff says it's been gone for over a year but still advertised. They have laundry and bathroom/shower facilities that have been broken/closed for a week with no expected time to reopen . When the laundry did briefly work for us they never had quarters like they also advertise and the surrounding businesses do not allow the purchase of quarters from them. The docks are made from this crazy expensive wood that's suppose to last like 100 years but sadly it has not been cared for and it's slowly starting to rot away several soft spots throughout. Overall we have enjoyed our stay in Charleston very much but the marina itself is not what they advertise. It's a safe place to dock your boat with water and electricity and that's it. I do not like false advertising and their website needs a dramatic update to accurately describe the Marina. From what I understand from a resident at the Marina many slips have become privately owned which sounds fine and dandy but it brings less revenue in to the marina . I don't anticipate much upgrading coming to the marina anytime soon, if ever. Again overall this is a great place to stay if you want a safe place and easy town access and more affordable than the others (still cost us at least $1400-1500 to stay ) just know there are zero amenities.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The docks are nothing fancy and a little challenging at times to get on and off depending on the tides . It's a very quite little marina it has a nice grassy area and a pavilion to have a picnic at . They have a outside bar but it was closed the two days we stayed ( not sure of the hours) up stairs in the restaurant for guests/ transits and members only . The people where very nice it felt local but very welcoming. Beautiful restaurant, food was good but not great but that might have just been what I ordered . The shower and restroom facilities were very clean and comfortable. No laundry ???? but that's ok as long as your not expecting it . The marina is located very close to all the cruise ships especially Disney so that was so fun to see them all come and go .
It's a bit of a walk to the restaurants that line the waterfront. But hey we got in our cardio . We rented a car and went to the Kennedy Space station which was awesome!!! There is a gift shop at the neighboring boatyard/marina that has lots of trinkets beer and wine .We would 100 stay again Sandra and Mike run the place And made us feel super welcomeView location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

We stayed here Sept 8-10 and really enjoyed ourselves. Great restaurant in very close walking range to harbor , and a harbor side bar and grill. Lots of cute little shops that surround the marina . The kids loved working light house that is also a museum . The staff was great very helpful we even got a bottle of wine upon check in . Laundry is free only two machines which is fine for us.
There is a beautiful playground close to the marina as well ( nice and shady) the pool is a bit of a walk but not bad at all still a very easy walk . The cafe near by is nice but closes at 2pm so just get there before that and your fine . We would definitely stay again clean , convenient, great staff, easy walking to restaurantsView location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
