We had the pleasure of staying two nights at this marina on our trip north on the ICW. This truly is a hidden gem! I am the reluctant first mate and still want the assistance of someone grabbing a line for me as we enter a slip. When I shared my concerns with the marina manager Donna she was so incredibly helpful she arranged for two of her friends Kim and Larry to meet us at the dock and help grab our lines. Larry even came back and helped us move the boat later when we needed to reposition to accommodate our power cord. We stayed for two great nights which allowed us to participate in the Wednesday night $1.25 beer night. This brings the residents of this great community together for fun and fellowship and my husband was generously treated to a few beers from these friendly folks. They welcomed us and included us just as if we lived there. Honestly, the hospitality and customer service there would make me consider purchasing an home in this great community. The manager Donna even allowed us to use her personal car to drive to Beaufort for a quick lunch and to grab supplies. When my dog was dealing with a dental issue she even offered me the name of her vet and to use her car to take my dog to the vet. To say this was a fantastic place is an understatement. So if you want a quiet well protected marina with friendly people, clean facilities, lots of safe room to let your dog walk and even have a treat from the well stocked marina store plus a great price on fuel, make plans to stop at Sea Gate marina you will not be sorry that you did!
