Lock comment on St. Lucie Lock
Comment by: Mary Brennan on Feb 20, 2025
Vessel Type: Power
LOA: 38'
Draft: 4.0'We have locked over 50 times. We went through the Saint Lucie lock twice this past month~this lock master was grumpy, curt, and unhelpful both east and west bound. All other lock masters were fantastic.

Dock staff helpful and friendly but make sure you have long lines if you are assigned a slip at the fuel dock pier. If you aren't young or nimble you won't be able to exit your boat on a low tide. Showers were clean but bathroom lights are on a timer. They go off after eight minutes, during mid shower the lights went off. Had to exit the shower in the pitch black waving my arms to get the motion sensor lights back on. Could be a very dangerous situation for someone older or not very agile on a slippery wet floor. Sounds like A perfect situation for a slip and fall accident, ….better call Saul????. In all seriousness it would be an easy situation to remedy, but office staff said nothing could be done about it. Would hate to see someone get hurt when it could be so easily rectified.
