We stopped in unannounced at 10:30 on a Friday morning in the busiest part of the season toward the end of July, asking for help troubleshooting a failing generator. John, the owner, immediately came aboard to help us troubleshoot, and then he got two of his mechanics to help us throughout Friday afternoon. John assisted me himself on Saturday as I continued through the weekend troubleshooting and testing. Without his help, I would not have found the source of our problems and been able to come up with a workable solution. We got underway on Monday with generator running. Outstanding attention by the entire marina staff for a transient boater, hoping against hope to get some mechanical assistance, and got more than I could possibly have expected. Saturday night bonfire, and s'mores at the marina with all of the locals caring for us as well. A delightful place. Perth is a bit of a drive from here but even the locals (in the marina) took us into town and then came back and picked us up. if you get to Perth, make sure you see Stewart Park… It's one of the most beautiful places we've been on our almost 2000 mile voyage to date. This marina, and John in particular, were simply outstanding.

Thanks for the great communication in advance of arrival and the helpful instructions getting in on a windy & SMOKEY evening. It's been great at your marina and thank you for all of your assistance! We enjoyed the Croton Dam, West Point, Fort Montgomery, Ossining (and a short glimpse of Sing Sing), Briarcliff Manor, and the statue of the Headless Horseman in Sleepy Hollow. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Anchorage Review for West Harbor - Fishers Island

Anchor just outside the harbor on the east side. Winds were southerly so lots of protection. A bit of rolling, weak from large boats, entering and exiting, but nothing unusual. A pleasant overnight. No problem with anchor holding.
