First, a pronunciation lesson: It's pronounced "cook SAH key". There are two separate floating aluminum docks in great shape with over 200 feet of dock space available. Depth at the dock is 12 feet MWL. The docks are a part of a renovated riverfront park that includes a playground, boat launch facilities grills and picnic tables. The park is bordered by a new hotel with restaurant, several shops coffee shops and dining places. The several of the dining facilities were closed, this being a Monday. There is a very good specialty grocery store on the main street named Coxsackie General Store with a good selection of basics, beer, and specialty items. They also create and serve deli sandwiches. Reed Street Bottle Shop is right across the street and caters to your wine and alcohol needs. Cellular service is very good. There is supposed to be free municipal Wi-Fi but we could not get it to work for us.
If approaching from the north be certain to leave plenty of space off the bottom of Coxsackie Island before turning in towards the docks. We turned in just before Green 159. Both docks are floating aluminum and are a bit squeaky when disturbed as by the wake of a passing boat. Two cruisers were on the docks when a fully laden tow and fuel barge came by and created a wake that, when it hit shallower water, built up to over two feet in height, enough to dislodge several fenders and create a possibly dangerous situation. Fortunately nobody was hurt but one of the boats (us) decided to leave the dock for the night to avoid any further problems. The report on our night at Coxsackie Island is also filed.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Room for 4-6 boats on two floating docks with plenty of cleats. Boat wakes were an issue during daylight hours. No services, but there are porta-potties across the beautiful park by the playground. The town is very charming, although most businesses are closed on Mon & Tues. There is a Farmer's market on Wed afternoons. Recommend The Yellow Deli for lunch. We would definitely return here.

We stayed for 1 evening along with 3 other approx. 40 ft boats. The docks are aluminum floating in great shape but you will feel the wake from passing boats. No power or water but also no fee. Located right in town alongside a beautiful park. Easy walk to nice restaurants. We went to Patrick Henry's had had a delicious meal with a great view on the patio. Would have loved to stay longer and explore this wonderful little town but unfortunately our schedule did not allow it.

Really great little town and dock. Stayed here a few nights. No hassle, lots of depth and current was no issue. Did I mention we loved the town. General store has a lot to replenish provisions and there is a great tavern/restaurant as well.

Coxsackie (pronounced "cook SAH key") Free Dock is 0.2 miles in from Green 159 RDB and consists of two separate floating aluminum docks in front of the village Riverside Park totaling about 230' of dock space. The docks are in very good condition and sit in 13' MLW. Although the town in on the river, there is very little tidal current at the dock. There is no water or power, bathrooms are at the other end of the park, and, as we were here on a Tuesday afternoon, virtually everything in town except Yellow Deli (just across the street) was closed. Still, you cannot beat it for the price. Cellular reception is good for AT&T and Verizon and very good for T-Mobile. There is open town Wi-Fi available on the dock (Riverside_by_Statetel). There was very little boat traffic from the town and the wakes from the river traffic did manage to get to the docks, but with little remaining force. Two thunderstorms came through but did not cause any real discomfort. We would like to come back on a nice Friday afternoon.

Nice floating dock in good repair. Low to the water with smaller cleats so be prepared. Park area is new and well maintained. Restaurant nearby and wine shop with a few others. Current wind and wakes slightly annoying.

Great free dock, room for 2 boats at the dock. The town of Coxsackie has put over $1M into revitalizing the park and dock area. Town has multiple restaurants, we eat at Che Figata Bistro, the food was great. If you like the small towns along the Hudson, this is a definite stop.
