Better than the wall but not much, no power, no water, missing boards on dock but plenty of water depth and easy in and out.

The town at first feels a bit run down, but don't be put off. Free floating docks (mostly for smaller boats) with a couple of 80' T heads, provided by town. Located at south end of Welland Canal, just south of the lift bridge (bridge number 8) on West side of waterway. No facilities (no water, no power, seasonal bathrooms in day time). Boaters can clear Canadian customs from here (phone +1888-CANPASS) and can stay overnight. Access to town (supermarket, laundry, restaurants, etc). No time limit posted, boaters regularly stay overnight (waiting for canal passage). Bathrooms open from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving. Overflow along wall. Ashore there are plenty of meal options, plus a candy store from the 40's (Safari Candy) well worth a visit. The local Historical and Maritime Museum (free) has a small display of some of the area industry (surprisingly good) and various buildings showing the homes and industries of the early settlers.

31 Jul 2023. Free Wall south of finger piers. After clearing the Clarence Street bridge we observed both finger piers were full on the T head. Our boat is too big to fit in the finger pier so we went to a spot on the high concrete wall. We were able to put our swim platform so that we can get off at the bottom of steps that go up to the street level and the top of the wall. You will have to tie to the fence posts and be creative. Canalside restaurant was still open so we went there for a quick bite and a short night to rest. There are public restrooms by the finger Pier however a sign was on it that said out of order. In the morning we walk to a 7-Eleven to get coffee and breakfast and used the restrooms there. Sam & Rev on Here's To Us!!, 50' Carver at WhatYachtToDo.com

Docks were full when we got there on 9-16-22 so we went to wall south of City dock. No amenities but ok spot to wait for Welland Canal.
