Went through the lock going down river and on the third pin in on starboard side. There were leaks in the lock on the starboard side that sprayed water all over our boat and into the cockpit. Suggest using the port side of the lock when going southbound.

Anchored in 25 ft of water at first bend. Didn't see less than 14 ft. coming off the river. Great wind protection. No current or wakes. Bottom was rocky so didn't get a good anchor set but Chain held us without issues. Another boat anchored in 15ft of water at second bend and anchor set well there...less rocky. Great cell and wifi. Didn't try to get to shore. Would recommend this spot for a quiet anchorage.

Anchored in 30ft of water (Pickwick Tailwater depth 360.47 when anchored.....358.68 next morning. Kentucky Lake depth 355.6) with a one knot current directly across from the most upstream house. Beach area accessible. Great cell and Wi-fi. Anchor came up clean and depth good all the way through behind island (nothing less than 20 ft.) but you need to watch the charts when exiting on the upstream end. Some pleasure boat traffic during daylight hours. Peaceful night.

Anchored in 30ft of water in light breeze across from rock breakwater and Becks Branch Creek. 55lb Mantus anchor set immediately and came up clean. Some pleasure boat traffic but most slowed down. Current kept boat parallel to shore and motored straight out next morning. Could dinghy to island if needed. Wi-fi and cell service very spotty.

    Kentucky Lake Pool 355.9.

Anchored in 12 ft of water (Kentucky Lake water level 355.5) about 400 ENE of small island south side of entrance. Exposed to wakes of southbound vessels. 55 lb Mantus anchor set immediately and came up clean. Could dinghy to shore if needed. Cell service very limited. Some fishing boat activity. This anchorage would be exposed to north and west winds...good in south or east winds.

Anchored in 12 ft of water (Kentucky Lake 355.2) about half way back into the cove. Give the green bouys a wide birth when entering. Very well protected except from west but the light westerly breeze did not cause issues. Anchor held well. High forested banks on both sides.
Room for 6 boats. There's a little shore access if needed. Occasional fishing boat in area; locals lauch boats off the beach. Beautiful location.

We have a 5.5 draft and could not make it behind the island. We stopped when we had 6 inches below our keel and backed out. The LaGrange Pool Stage on 9/13/24 was 15.83. So we anchored south of Quiver Island in 11 -12 foot of water. Enough current to keep the boat aligned with very little wind. Would be OK in east or west wind. Boat and barge traffic minimal. 2-3 bars on Verizon 4G

Stayed 2 nights on a mooring ball. Plenty of water. Tried multiple times to contact marina prior to arrival and finally got a call back. Mooring ball very difficult to attach without a happy hooker. Great rate $15/nt. Access to restrooms, showers, dinghy dock. Bike rental right outside marina. Some wave action from boats but quieted down in evening. Overall, a good stop.

Good secure anchorage in 15 ft of water. Took 10 minutes to get weeds off the anchor next morning. Didn't go ashore but marina did offer to let us tie our dinghy up there. Quiet night with very little boat traffic.

Great anchorage in 10-12 ft. Anchor came up a little muddy with a few weeds. Entrance channel was 6-7 ft between R4 and R6. Lots of weekend boaters anchored but cleared out by 6p. Only 2 boats stayed overnight. Everyone adhered to the no wake zone inside bay. Didn't go to shore but there was a park nearby.

Concur with previous review. We were having fuel issues when we arrived and General Manager Jim W was awesome...he made calls to people he thought could help us, he and his staff delivered packages to us, took us to town to get supplies and parts. Helped us at the fuel dock and also to get tied up on the transient dock. What a great group! All the facilities were neat and clean. The transient dock was a walk to the office but the restrooms and showers were nearby. Water depth was 7-8 feet in marina. Numerous shops, arcades and places to eat were about 1 mile from marina. Marina also rented bikes. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend! Oh and the local fishermen were bringing in large quantities of walleyes.

Free cty pier with good protection from South wind on West side. Not a great place in North or Northeast wind. Needed fender boards and many fenders as Pier is sheet piling but in great shape. Tie on to steel pipe along the top of Pier. Depth 10-11 feet midway on west side although depth finder reporting 6-7 feet because of thick grass and weeds. Public restrooms at end of Pier. A few restaurants within a short walk. Great beach about 1/2 mile away. Very busy on Sunday afternoon with boat traffic but with minimal wakes. Pier is a parking lot and street so lots of people around. Quieted down by 9p and had a peaceful night as we were the only boat on Pier staying overnight. Would stay again.

Some security with locked gates and guard making rounds. Locals on dock very friendly...even let us use their vehicle to go run errands and get provisions. Would stay again.

Ice cream across the street (but not open on Mondays) Would definitely recommend this stop.

Stayed 3 nights on mooring ball. Very reasonable for New York $65/nt. Skinny channel coming in but doable at high tide. Had launch service to get you to your mooring ball. Offered shuttle service. David and Josh good to work with at marina. Also had dinghy dock near by; good showers and restrooms. Locked gate; felt secure. Grocery 1/2 mile and train station within 1 mile. Would definitely come back.

RR and shower were clean. Excellent protection from wind and wakes. Fuel and pump out easy access. Dock master helpful. Had to call TowboatUS. Ended up anchoring in 12' of water just inside north entrance to oxbow. Good holding and very little traffic on the channel outside.
