Spent a month at Boot Key Harbour City Marina on our last trip in 2014-15, and this marina felt a lot like home. On our return in 2025 things have changed signs for the worse. The infrastructure looks like it has been upgraded since, including a decrepit channel to the dinghy dock. It's also almost impossible to work with them on securing a mooring ball. We called when we were two hours out to get a ball and were told we had to come in to get it. By the time we got there, we were told it was gone, due to a strict first come, first served policy. We then tried to get on the wait list, to no avail, because we needed to have our boat paperwork with us, which we weren't told on the phone or radio. Next morning we were told we couldn't get on the wait list unless we paid for at least a week. Meaning it's first come, first served, to only those who've paid enough… or they just make up the rules as they see fit. When i questioned the policy in an attempt to understand it, they became aggressive.
