Lake Couchiching, ON, CAN

Lake Couchiching is about 10 miles long, has an average depth of 9 feet and is just beautiful. Like any small lake, it can kick up a nasty chop in foul weather so pay attention to the forecasts. This marks the beginning of the Severn Region.
The 14.5-acre Couchiching Beach Park in the southwest corner of the lake (in Orillia) has a nice sandy beach and pretty gardens. The Trans-Canada Trail is at the waterfront and the Rotary Train runs twice around the track from Canada Day until Labour Day on weekends and holiday Mondays, weather permitting (for a small fee).
