Easy peasy docking. Strange power situation. Because the land side has large boulders for the wall, you need to of course stay back. Power is on the land side and we used every inch of our power lines to get there. (And our power is forward on our boat so we nose in). They do have big "garage hooks" on the dock edges to run your cords. However going along the dock edge you need really long cords. Many had double cords or them strung from bow over water to the power box and I will just say that is a long way!!! 5 more inches and we would have had to do that also. That much cord hanging is very heavy and sketchy. Have a power plan for cords. You have to dock in a manner to facilitate power cords here. Overall though, nice and no other concerns. Best part was east in and out.

Close to good shopping and restaurants. Liquor store has great selection of wine and spirits with knowledgeable staff. Facilities clean. Town is dog friendly. Staff was very nice but out office off and on so getting information and assistance during stay was spotty.

Five stars is not enough to rate this marina. Not only is the marina beautifully located in a park, but the staff was over the top friendly and helpful. The town had everything you could want including great restaurants. People throughout the town were very friendly also. If not so far from our home, I would look to dock our boat there each season. We will be going back.

Great location right downtown. The power situation is a little iffy. They have a new fancy power system. Our boat kept on tripping the breakers. However, in the last hundred marinas, we've never had a problem. Just be warned that the power-play be an issue for you. We we had to rely off our solar power for two days.

We liked Frankfort and the Municipal Marina. Easy harbor to access, easy walk to numerous restaurants, playground right at marina, nice marina showers and restrooms. Marina would only take reservations for the current day.

Not a rated review but useful information. So the 5 stars is not indicative of past experience.

On 5/4/23 spoke with the Frankfort Town Hall looking for a reservation as the marina hadn't opened for business yet.

According to the town hall the marina rents slips on a first-come-first-served basis. Slips are rented on the day of the visit, not in advance.

This is key for those who make reservations in advance.

Very nice, friendly staff, wouldn't hesitate to stay again, clean washrooms. Great USCG museum at the waterfront. There was a marathon run during our stay, lots of fun to watch. Great ice-cream store.

The Frankfort Municipal marina runs along the shore separated from Main Street by a park. Every slip is dog friendly as grass is less than 20 feet away. Between the harbour and Main Street is a playground, picnic shelter, library, washrooms and band stand. There is a famers market Saturday morning and concerts in the park on Friday at seven. A sidewalk and cycling path parallels the marina. Older facilities but clean, gang washroom with showers. Fuel, pump-out and grocery store three block away.

This town and marina are hidden jewels. Mark was super helpful working with us on weather. We ended up staying 4 nights partly because of the weather. We probably could have left earlier, but we were having too much fun. They are reserve/day-of-arrival folks, so call at 8am if you think you want to stay there that day. And the town is a classic northern Michigan beachside town. Great marina and great stay.

Frankfort Municipal Marina is part of the Michigan DNR Marina group and provides well-maintained marina facilities at a very reasonable price. Approach is through the outer harbor then through the canal into Lake Betsie. The marina is on the north shore of the lake half way into the lake. Approach depths were 12' and we had 10' at the dock. All slips, including the gas dock are slips attached to the town bulkhead and you walk off your finger pier onto the village green with main street 100 yards across the lawn.

The slips were in good shape and everything including bathrooms and showers was well taken care of. 50 amp electric and water were on a new pedestal on the bulkhead. The marina staff is friendly, responsive, and very competent.

Frankfort Marina is actually a part of the town park and so you should be prepared for people engaged in their own activities just off the end of your pier. Everyone was very nice and we had no issues with intrusive people. Even though there is no security whatsoever we did not feel any real concerns. There are over ten restaurants to choose from all within walking distance as well as a supermarket and a hardware store within a block of the marina. Wi-Fi reception and speed were good and cellular service for AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile was very good. The park is pet friendly. Definitely a very pleasant stop for an overnight or for a longer stay.
