    Ashtabula Yacht Club

    no fuel, self pump out

$2/ft, cash or check, 30 amp service only

The bathroom has 3 stalls and 2 showers. Recently renovated, nicely kept and always open
Transient dock accommodates at least 2 large boats. We have a 50 foot trawler.
Location is after Bascule bridge which opens on the hour and half hour.

Residents are friendly. Short walk to town with good places to eat. We didn't have a bad meal.
Rennick Meat Market and Briquettes Smokehouse. Went to the Ashtabula Maritime Museum, which told the history of the area.

It was nice to be greeted when we arrived. We used the pump out first, then maneuvered over to our slip where the dock guy helped us tie up. The docks are sturdy but narrow. Payment is by check or cash only. The restrooms were clean. The marina was within walking distance of a quaint downtown area with shops and restaurants. Getting past the drawbridge early on Saturday morning was a challenge with at least 30 fishing boats waiting for the 6:30 AM opening; I recommend a later departure, at least on weekends.

Very friendly welcome. No need to be a member of a reciprocating club just pay $1.50/ft. Power, water, and use of washer and dryer is all included. The dock was a bit rickety, but solid enough. Decent showers and restrooms. Easy walk to town. There is a lift bridge to go under, but it opens every half hour 24/7, no need to call it.

Nice laid back yacht club. No restaurant/bar but full kitchen available for use. Members were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Short walk into town for restaurants, less than a mile to grocery/hardware.
