Marina located in an industrial area adjacent to town. Staff is minimal. Bathrooms are not cleaned regularly. WiFi kicks in and out. There are two coined washers and dryers which are ok. The basin is divided into two walls. The northeast wall is by the office with floating docks where there are more transient docks available and is fenced in. The southwest wall are sturdy fixed docks, mostly charter fishing boats, a couple transient slips, no fencing but appears to be safe. 30 and/or 50 amp pedestals vary depending on the slip. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Couple of food stores. Paid $1.50 per foot with power included. Diesel is $4.32 a gallon today.

Stayed here 3 nights mid September on way south. Tammy was attentive and super helpful. We were new to the mast unstepping process and she took the time to explain it very clearly. We have a 42 foot sailboat with a 58 foot mast that had to lie on the deck under our Bimini/dodger/solar panels. Steve and Gary did a professional job lowering the mast and fine tuning our mast cradles on deck, ensuring all was secured properly. Highly recommend!

Great bathrooms and showers. Easy walk to the fort. Several restaurants are close. Bit of a hike from the wall and south side to the office and dumpsters on the north side. Lots of charter salmon fishermen wake you up at 4:30-5:00 am. Town of Oswego is interesting. Bird electric scooters around for public rental use.

Oswego Marina
Fuel and pumpout. $2/foot
Bathrooms have 2 stalls and 2 showers
Laundry room
The marina is U-shaped with a long cement wall across from the office and fuel dockwhat wraps around the corner. We have a 50 foot trawler and the wall held 3 large trawlers, then wrapped around the corner. We docked ourselves, which wasn't a problem. The marina store (and the dumpster) are on the opposite site from the cement wall. It's an awful long way to throw away your trash. We were told to leave it in the bathroom, but it would be better to have some trash containers on that side of the marina. Staff always answered the phone.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Easy access and a sheltered place to dock. We had help to dock and a ride to the office in a golf cart. We were near restrooms and laundry which was convenient too. Easy walk to hotel restaurant but not much else is walkable. There are lots of fishing charters which Doug took advantage of and we stocked up with lots of salmon.

The Oswego marina is just beyond lock O8 on the Oswego canal as it empties into Lake Ontario. The vista from the lock to the marina is beautiful. The marina itself is old and the docks and finger piers are well worn and tend to wobble. There are also a couple concrete walls thatch handle various sized transient boats.
The marina has the equipment to step masts for sailboats which is a nice feature and often used.
The staff was one woman who was gracious and helpful.
Restaurants are in the city of Oswego which is a 15 min walk across the canal. There is an interesting fort just adjacent to the marina.
Restroom and shower facilities on the north side of ht marina are old and worn. Can't speak to the facilities on the south side.
It's hard to penalize the marina because those there are doing their best to make the experience pleasant. We stopped 9/16 and 9/19, so it was late in the season and the area had clearly shifted into the fall mode and away from boating.
The town of Oswego near the canal is old and tired and in need of new energy and revitalization.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

July 20&21. I stayed here last year as well, though a longer stay last year due to weather. A pleasant working marina. A small but steady group of transients stay here. The staff, which appeared this year to be two women, were very pleasant and helpful. There is some wave activity usually related to passing boats on the river. If you are on the floating finger docks, they are a bit rocky with the waves. But, not unsafe. I used the laundry facilities both this year and last. The machines were neat, clean and in good working order same applies to the women's restroom. As with many marinas depending on where you are berthed it can be a walk to restrooms and laundry. A bonus from my standpoint is they now sell ice!

Oswego Marina is just passed the last lock (O-8) on the Oswego Canal. The Harbormaster appears to be working solo. She was very friendly and caught our lines along with friends on another boat. The floating dock is thin and wobbly. There is one bathroom on the Harbormaster side and separate Men's and Women's bathrooms/showers on the other side. No laundry machines. The marina is within walking distance of several restaurants.

Stayed here many times, first review. 10-12' water on wall next to restaurant. Used 2 50 amp plugs to go to my smart Y and seemed to work while it did not work in years past. Wifi ok, staff was good, young man was sent to help us dock and took me via golf cart to office to check in and brought me back to boat. Fresh H2O a long way from where we docked. They are hard to get on phone, had to try more than once. Not a bad experience.

Getting information was like pulling teeth. We'd email and get answers back several days later, usually not answering our questions. After 3-4 tries we decided to get our mast lowering done in Sodus Bay and not stay on Oswego Marina at all.
WG Editor Comment:

Pro: Easy access from the river, short walks to restaurants, shopping, sights, good dog walking, 50 amp power and water, nice, clean restrooms.
Con: Transient dock is a concrete wall and is open to the river, Rolly in N or NE wind. Long walk around boat basin to office and dumpster. No security/privacy from hotel/restaurant next door. Staff was pretty scarce.
Conclusion: Consider the winds from the lake and keep your canal fenders out.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

We were expecting to be in a marina but we’re put on a high cement dock wall at the entrance to the marina. 50 amp power and water were at the wall. There is a fort about a quarter mile away that is great for walking the dog.

The lake was rough so the marina, which is right at the mouth, was a little bouncy but we were just happy to have a spot to tie up for the night. Maddy was a delight! We loved Alex's restaurant which is right next door.
