This marina has nice clean bathrooms and showers, a small pool, and laundry facilities with covered picnic tables and vending machines where you can look at the boats while you wait. Weekends offer a bed and breakfast type experience with muffins, juice and coffee, etc. The real fun is stepping out, turning left and walking to the Kemah Boardwalk with its amusement park rides, restaurants and shops. A free appetizer coupon is provided for the Boardwalk restaurants. Thursday nights feature live music as does the weekend. If you want off the boat, the hotel in the Boardwalk is very nice and very reasonable. Turn to the right as you leave the marina and visit boutique shops, seaside shops and more as you walk past many restaurants, an ice cream parlor and more towards the gazebo park. There is a lot to keep you busy and entertained. If you need boat items, West Marine and Blackburn Marine are a couple of miles away. There are also large grocery stores, Target and such within a couple of miles. The other positive aspect is you won’t have depth problems getting in and out of the Marina. It’s outside of the 146 bridge (undergoing construction in 2021) which results in channel closures on one or both sides. There is fuel located by going under that bridge to a different marina. Just check on the bridge status that might affect the channel before planning to fuel there. Channels will be impacted through at least August 2021. This is 2.5 years into a 5 year road project. Check Coast Guard bulletins on the Clear Creek Channel.

This is the very definition of a 5-star marina, although that does come with a 5-star price. We were given detailed, helpful instructions on docking prior to entering the marina and the harbor master with an assistant met us at our docking location and helped us get secured. They not only helped with the lines but even helped get water and electricity connected to the boat. The day we docked there was a small craft advisory in the bay and a good 20 knot north wind blowing. This marina is sheltered from a north wind by a multi-story parking garage and is about the only marina on Clear Lake that I would trust with the tide as low as it was. The staff was always professional and courteous. The floating docks are in good shape and well maintained. The staff appear to walk the docks at least once every day checking on the status of every boat and will call you if they see something out of the norm. The restrooms were always spotlessly clean. We had several packages delivered during our 1 month stay here and were always informed that packages had arrived with several of the smaller ones brought to the boat. This is a very secure marina, completely fenced with card entry onto the property. There are more places to eat around this marina than can be sampled in a month. There are a multitude of marine suppliers in this area with West Marine, Blackburn Marine, and Kemah hardware all within 2 miles of the marina.
