The Scito Creek Marina seems to be more of a marine repair facility that uses its two long docks to passively generate transient revenue. There are no slips, and the docks can accommodate about six boats. The fairway between the docks is very tight, so much so that we manned the swim platform and the bow to potentially fend off a boat leaving between our boat the one moored on the opposite dock. The marina is very well protected from wind and waves, no wakes from the creek. The marina is showing its age with very old docks. The restrooms/showers (one each men/woman) are dated, but clean. There is a modest ships store that is mostly focused on fishing supplies. The marina has very bright lights on all night that might be an issue for some. The staff was very friendly, and another Looper told us the onsite restaurant/bar was very good. The marina is pet friendly, with a grassy area about 80 yards from the dock. The town area is maybe 1,000 yards from the marina. In short, very limited transient accommodations (6-8 boats max), tight docking, aging facilities and apparently a good onsite restaurant at a pricey $3.00/foot, plus $25/night for power.

Super nice staff. They had fuel, ice, restaurant, and a nice marina store complete with marina cats. When you come into the creek, stay close to the big shrimp boats. It gets shallow quick by the grass.

Easy to book by phone. Very friendly and responsive. Side-tie on fixed dock close to office, clean bathrooms and restaurant. Well-protected location and near parks and town. A little expensive but we did enjoy our stay.

No help tying up. No help fueling... do it yourself. No help getting water... do it yourself. An up charge for using credit card. Rude. Would get fuel somewhere else; unfortunately they are only fuel marina in town.

I was not very impressed with this $3/foot/night marina, which is one of the farthest from town along Scipio Creek. There are no transient slips; boats parked one behind the other along three long docks. The space between the docks is tight, requiring boats to back out of the fairway into the creek to depart. They parked me adjacent to the fixed fuel dock with bright spotlights on my boat all night. There's just one restroom/shower room each for men and women. The only really good thing about the place was the restaurant on the premises, Half Shell Dockside, which features seafood with outdoor seating during the day. The marina is nearly a half-mile walk into town, where there are lots of restaurants and shops. It's nearly a mile walk to the nearest supermarket, a Piggly Wiggly. The marina does not have a courtesy car or shuttle.

Pro: Easy access to sheltered location. 100% side-tie. Womens restroom acceptable. Staff performance was OK (just).

Con: Expensive. Not all power pupits worked. A hike to any shopping/services. Never received correct key for men's room.

Conclusion: $3/ft for this? But what other choices are there......

We loved this marina. It started with our conversation with Sabrina - she was wonderful and super helpful. The linear docks offered nice protection from the winds. The on-site restaurant was fabulous. We enjoyed some oysters!

Very nice people run this place, but for $3/ft, I would expect more. No WiFi, 1 washroom each for men and women, and washer/dryer was locked up after the office closed. Location is good off the ICW.

This review is concerning the Suzuki Repower program that this marina is a member of.
Stay away!!! Do not take your boat here for repower. Shoddy work would be a compliment for these folks. Communication is a foreign concept. My boat was damaged and I was told if I wanted it repaired I could pay for it.
New wiring was "installed". Installed to the point that it was inside the boat. There was not a single cable tie used to secure or "dress" the wiring. One of the gauges was mounted upside down. The performance of the new engine was strongly exaggerated and could not be duplicated. The cavitation plate was bent and I was told nothing could be done to repair it.

I will say save your money! $3.00 per ft. Broken laundry facilities (also no hot water for laundry) Run down shower/ restroom. No pump out, $$$$ fuel prices. There's a free dock at the city park that puts you right in the heart of town. The one plus of this marina is the bar, good food and entertainment (closed the day after we arrived for maintenance) you can walk to it from town. Also NO WIFI. I was next to the office and couldn't get it. Management does not seem interested in transients at all.

This is about the service. My family has been going to Apalachicola area for over 30 years and we have used Scipio Creek marina for over 20. I have left at least 3 messages for the manager to call me and she has not returned my call and must not be much of a manager because according to her employees she is never there. I have not even arrived and the customer service has already made me feel unimportant.

I’ve kept my boat here for years. The new owner is kicking this place in high gear. It’s been transformed and revitalized. Restaurant has cold beer and great food. Gas is fast and reasonable. Boat is in the water when I ask it to be In the water. Quick wash down and fish cleaning station. I love it to the point I want a bigger boat to live on during the weekend or a condo nearby.

We stayed at Scipio Creek two years ago. It has changed ownership and gone through hurricane Michael since. I can see the upgrades since we were here before. We have stayed on the outside wall by fuel pumps both times because it's deeper out there. Easy walk to what appears to be new bathhouse. Only one women's and one men's however. Toilet and shower in same room so if office is closed and someone is showering you have to wait a long time for bathroom. Working on deck rebuilding now. Town is charming as we remember it. Love the old time soda fountain. New restaurant at marina. Half Shell Oyster Bar. Accommodated our large boat group of 15 and food was good.

Old and basic but very friendly. Tied up on the channel off the river with the help of the marina. Basic shower and very basic laundry. Unique town is a must visit. A good place to prep for the Gulf crossing to Tarpon Springs.
