Well maintained mooring balls and excellent wind protection. We will be back. A little boat and jet ski traffic but otherwise quiet.

Moorings are well maintained. Depth is 6ft. Well away from the road, so no noise. Bay fishing boats come and go. Lots of crab pots, so watch coming in. Nice tour of the historic site and local plant species.

This is a state park. There are No Trespassing signs on the West side of the key but I guess they only want you coming in on the pier on the east side.
We grabbed a mooring ball here for a couple of nights. Very peaceful except for the late afternoon Jetski tour, but that is not too bothersome. We had 18knt winds out of the North and North east pick up over night and there is no protection on the mooring balls from a West to NNE wind. Mooring balls appear to be in good shape and held well. Didn't go into the state park on the key because it is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Used a mooring ball on the Northwest side. If you are traveling the AICW, another great stop, dinghy to Lignumvitae on the east side. There is a short self guided tour. If you have a dinghy with a bit more distance ability, go south under the bridge to Indian Key. Indian Key is a State Park as well, with a lot of history. We stayed for 2 nights, enjoyed the stars and quiet from being along the mail Keys.

We stayed here for two nights on March 2-3 2021. Very beautiful and quiet. There are five mooring balls on NW side of island which is where we stayed. First come, no charge. Fist night was calm, dark and star filled. Second night the winds kicked up from the west and we rocked and banged hard all night, but mooring ball held. There is a botanical gardens and historical house on island, but only open Th to M and we were there T and W. Next trip hopefully. Would highly recommend as a stop if your boat draws 5' or less as inside passage can get skinny. No other amenities except mooring ball. But very quiet, no bugs and peaceful. Good fishing, but watch out for jellyfish floating by.

Five nice mooring balls in 7 ft of water. Plenty of space between moorings. Area littered heavily with crab pots. Moorings were all occupied by sunset. Very calm and beautiful at sunrise.
