Typically, when you pay a premium for something, you expect a bit better that what this marina offers. True, it is a very nice floating dock. We did not have anyone assist us with arrival, we didn't get any information regarding our stay, no internet, no laundry facilities, our pedestal was out, so we ran on limited power. The other boaters were very helpful, that was the highlight of the stay.Worst review I have ever written, very disappointed

If you like a well built dock with power and water with quiet surroundings. West Canal Marina is the right place. The town must have spent a lot of money on this park. We were the only ones here. 5 double power pedestals with two taps for water. Limit of 3 nights. Walmart 1.9 miles away, great walk through quiet neighborhood. Aldi's within .5 miles. Well light at night, no concern over security.

Very nice marina. Well protected from wind, which is why we were hiding here. Spent 3 days and enjoyed it. There is a bike trail along the Genesee river, its worth the ride. Easy access to a variety of restaurants within a short walk. Great staff and facilities. No fuel at this marina, you have to go to Shumways, they were pricy. If you are this side of Lake Ontario, its worth a stop.

This seems to be a working fishing marina. Very few transient slips. No dock power or water. They have nice bathrooms. We had a few issues with making the reservations, and clarity of where we were supposed to tie up. They label the docks in colors, so no real logic to finding the right spot. Missing WiFi as well. Nice view of lights at night. Waiting out the wind.

We took a chance on this marina. It is worth the stop. The new docks are well built and offer good power and water. There is now Wifi. The dock master was great with docking assistance and offering information about the town. The area has been updated, lots of local restaurants easlily accessible. I was surprised at the tide this far up the Hudson. It is located just below the first lock on the Hudson. Ships and barges pass by, interesting to watch and listen to them. Plenty of depth dockside.

It is good to get off the Hudson. We were running from TD Henri. Rondout is the perfect hurricane hole, well protected from all sides. Staff and dock residents were friendly and helpful. It is good to be farther back off the main fairway, as the boat traffic in and out of Kingston was more than we would have expected. It is a good walk up a hill into town, where there is a small grocery store. Dinghy ride to the falls up the creek was scenic, easy access to restaruants on the water on the Kingston side of the creek. Some historical parts are worth the trip. We would definately come back again.

Interesting location. This is on a old barge canal, a lot of history about the C&D canal. Tim directed us into the marina. At first it seems obvious, the reality is, make sure you have and understand the instructions for arrival. Plenty of water to get in. Side tie only, on a long dock. Tim gived a crossing briefing, and it is well worth the time to understand the tides and currents for the Delaware bay run to Cape May. Local knowledge is worth the discussion with Tim.

I wasn't quite sure where to leave this review. There are some mooring balls down Spa Creek, operated by the Annapolis City Dock. If you want to really get a feel for Annapolis, use the mooring balls. They are in residential areas, so the traffic is low and very quiet. The balls are well maintained, however a lot of locals appear to use them to store their boats. Plenty of water depth, just have to have the bridge lifted for you if over 12' in height. Plenty of dinghy docks to tie up to, if you want to get ashore. We found a dozen or so. Don't overlook this gem.

The Cape Fear River provides strong currents and exposure to strong winds. Make sure you plan the entrance close to slack tide. Also, the ferry has right of way in the single boat channel, so call ahead and make sure you don't have to do a quick turn to get out of the way. A very unique visit once tied up. Good dock help. Advertised as a resort, it is not. The fuel dock staff was exceptional, pump out was the strongest I've ever seen. The marina is in need of repairs. The good news is Pompano Beach is a nice stop over. Publix close by, plenty of restaurants, a quick walk to the Atlantic and a pier. Area is very updated, the marina is not keeping up, sorry.

Other reviews are correct. This is a Gem of a place. The harbor will fill up, so get there early or mid week if possible. It does fill up with locals, and is entertaining, very family oriented from our perspective. There was music both nights we were there, and was shut down at 10PM. The views are fantastic. A couple small beaches to get wet in. Overall, a great experience.

The wind was from the SE, we pulled up within 200' of shore in 8' of water. There were some waves from the ICW, by the time they arrived at the anchorage they were mild rollers. When we pulled in, we were the only boat, then two others. Plenty of room, so we were far apart. Good holding as well. A worth while stop over.

The grounds at this marina are very nice, you are at Founders Park for the city if Islamorada. We were assigned a slip in the live-a-board dock. The docks were in less than good condition. The good news is, there is a FreeBee shuttle with a phone app. They will take you anywhere within Islamorada. This is good, because there really isn't much by the marina. We used it to get to dinner one night as well. The marina is well protected from wind and waves. It looked shallow getting there, but there is penty of water at the entrance.

If you are traveling the AICW, another great stop, dinghy to Lignumvitae on the east side. There is a short self guided tour. If you have a dinghy with a bit more distance ability, go south under the bridge to Indian Key. Indian Key is a State Park as well, with a lot of history. We stayed for 2 nights, enjoyed the stars and quiet from being along the mail Keys.

Stayed for a week, first marina just off the entrance to Boot Harbor. Plenty of access to restaurants for Happy Hour, Publix 2.4 miles away. Good Fuel Dock, free pumpout Tues & Weds. Everyone was helpful, I see why people stay for the season.

If you have the time this is a great stop. The entrance is dredged, I saw 5' under the keel. The bay is smaller and the largest boat should be 45' max. Well protected bay from most all directions, unique in that you can walk part of the old Overseas Highway, and see both the Atlantic and Florida Bay. Staff was helpful and friendly. You do have access with bikes to US-1, its a long way to anything. A worthwhile stop over.

At first I thought, what the heck did I get into. This marina has some of the best floating docks I've ever seen, the staff has gone out of their way to be helpful. New restrooms are exceptionally clean and modern. Being in a bight it is well protected from wind and wave.
Convenient to everything in Key West. Would defintley come back again. Best deal around!View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Great floating docks, friendly team. Access to downtown Naples is within a short walk. If you have a bike, even better. Price is reasonable. Laundry is very good, not coin operated and industrial machines. You can also grab a mooring ball there. There are two mooring fields, the one south by the Naples yacht club was quiet and protected.

Shallows to the west stopped most all wave action, the island to the east protected from the channel. Some wake from the ICW to the north, but nothing to really disturb. Lot of birds around, some smaller islands to explore around. We didn't find any that would warrant a walk ashore. Great jump off point to Naples or Key West if needed.

Holding is very good. Great place to explore with dinghy. There is a lake within Cay Costa Key. You have to go South approximately 2nm, west of Cabbage Key in the bay of Cayo Costa and look for the entrance. May have to get out and pull your dinghy through, but worth the exploring trip. Great place.

Wind protection would be from West on the Bradenton Beach side and East from the Cortez side. It is on the ICW, so lots of wake during the day. Some good dockside places to eat on both sides of the ICW. Access to Bradeton Beach as well from restaurant docks. Cell service seems to be fine. It is worth the stop over.
