We were the first boat to arrive and anchored in 8 feet (low tide) of water with swing room away from the channel. We favored R2 on approach without any depth issues for 5 foot draft.
There were 5 boats here when we left at daybreak.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Draft: 5.0'Overall Rating:4Holding:5Wind Protection:4Current Flow:3Wake Protection:3Scenic Beauty:5We only spent one night at anchor, and had a very pleasant experience. We didn't experience the boat traffic or waves that other reviewers commented on, so we had a calm, smooth evening. The surrounding shoreline is beautiful without any residential development in sight. Holding was excellent – the anchor grabbed alosmt immediately in a soft, mud bottom. We were there on Oct 1st, and didn't have any problem with bugs or no-see-ums.
We draft 5' and approached around low tide. We had less than a foot under the keel where there is shoaling at the junction of the ICW and creek. We favored the Little River-Winyah Bay Red Nun 2 and made it into the creek without any problem. Once inside the creek, depths were 8'+ and we anchored in about 12' of water.
We wouldn't hesitate to anchor there again.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

There were 4 boats and we and our buddy boat squeezed just north of Green 3. No more room And the steady stream of tour boats, fishing boats and locals came close to us all afternoon, some at speeds certainly not nice and maybe unsafe. A late arriving shrimp boat grounded/anchored themselves for the evening by the #2 Little River Daybeacon. Be careful not to confuse the two #2 day beacons. I did and touched bottom mid tide with our 4' draft. Definitely not one of our favorite anchorages along the ICW. No immediate shore access although we were told you can go up river to Calabash. T-Mobile was a poor 1 bar

There is a good deal of boat traffic but since we were planning on an early start it wasn't too disruptive. Quiet during the night so not too bad a place to stay. Depths were good even at low tide.

You'll get early morning wake-up calls from passing shrimp boats passing uncomfortably close, and there is a so-much-better anchorage not far away at Bird Island, just northeast of the Little River Inlet. Go there instead.

Turned in at the 2 marker. Room for 3 - 4 boats. Appears to have a moored sailboat taking one spot. A lot of boating activity. Would stay again.

Water level to enter Calabash can be tricky at low tide - so time entry and expected exit as needed. We entered/departed right between the two red markers and were fine at mid tide with our 5.5 draft
