We saw about 6.5 feet of water (just past the crest of lower high tide) in there. Be mindful there is no protection from a northerly or southerly. We had a beautiful sunset and evening with a warm westerly but at around 5AM the wind switched northerly around 20. This forced an early start to our day. The straight shot south made for easy dark navigation. Would love to come back here on a nice calm night.

I anchored FAR east of the anchor icon in Waterway Guide, as close to the boat ramp on the island as I could get. (I needed to walk my pups 2-3 times a day and do not like long dinghy rides in choppy water. My boat's 2 1/2 foot draft enabled me to get very close; I dropped anchor in about 5 feet of clear water -- I could see the sandy bottom -- and played out 40 feet of chain. Held well. Not much current, but it was windy. I was far enough from the ICW that wake was not an issue. Very little tide change in this area. I was able to dinghy over to the beach facing the lagoon at what's charted as a boat ramp. That was fine for walking my pups, but a short walk to the Atlantic Beach and there were No Pets signs that kept us out. I went down the boardwalk to have a look at the beach and discovered that it was clothing optional -- a man sunning himself on a beach chair facing the boardwalk had no pants on. (This is part of the Canaveral National Seashore, so the nudity surprised me. So we stuck to the lagoon side. As for the SpaceX launch, the view was better than I'd hoped. I watched the rocket climb until it was invisible and then saw the booster land back on another pad. 1 minute and 12 second delay for sound (if you want to calculate the distance.) Head the sonic boom of the returning booster, too. I would definitely go back.

We were 2-300 yards off the waterway and felt minor wakes. Overall good especially with any westerly winds. A north-east or southerly stronger wind this might not be the best place. We did find some beaches on the west side of the ICW for our dog!!

This is a very good stop overnight or a few days in good, sandy holding. I use it a lot. It can be bumpy if the winds are up from almost any direction as there is a long fetch. There is good fishing on the bar to the NE but also be careful of said bar. With a dingy you can explore many of the islands in the lagoon from here.
