still doable with a 4' draft. we did touch the sand once even though it was high slack tide. well worth it once we got in here. looking forward to checking out the caves.

we caught a cable when we first tried to anchor. there is a marked cable we avoided but still snagged a smaller one. found a good patch of sand and held well there. walk to store on the south end of island is long and hot but really pretty with all the folliage. waked hard by fishermen in the morning.

use anchorage on the other side if you need to get off your boat. we couldn't find anywhere on this side and had to wait out a 2 day blow. good protection from the north though. No cell service

stayed close to north end for good holding. not very windy (5-10k E wind). hawksbill was fun to explore shallows in low tide. beware of broken glass. dangerous for kids and pets. Foxtown government dock may be a challenge to climb ladder. it looks like the dock at da valley restaurant would have been a better choice. the restaurant da valley is as good as they say and quick service. we don't have pets but it doesn't look like a pet would be an issue. folks seem quite friendly.

we like to stop here to hike the trails however since hurricane Ian, the trails and shore access is closed. I called the park. they said they do not plan to reopen until December of 2024. however the beach access is open on the Gulf side and it looks like you can take your pup to the sand bar or the other island from the anchor spot.
it didn't seem that sholing changed much but do be careful of shallow spots if it is your first time visiting.

great spot with NW to N blow of about 15knots. prediction was up to 20k. don't know if it got there because I slept so good.
secluded but pretty open. probably not good if winds are from south/east.
it looks like shore has beach areas for dogs and if I had one, I would be confident that I could get them a good run on shore. although not guaranteed. great holding but muddy anchor and chain this am. saw 7 feet of water minimum all the way to the symbol. didn't risk going any further in.

not a good spot while the river is so low. it could work for one boat maybe in a pinch. very shallow all around the chute so we only put out 50 feet of scope. current kept us in place for the most part but morning wind pushed us on top of our anchor.
on the plus side, it was fun watching barges and the night sky was incredible without light pollution. we had 1 to 2 bars Verizon.

This is where you can stay at the dock if you have a mooring pass. 15 slips every other one is about 35' long and at least 18' wide also has t dock but has a separator so only boats about 45' long can stay there (ok to stick out. we do at 40'). bathroom a bit of a hike.
