This looks like a nice little marina. They even had a volleyball net set up outside. However our first concern should have been there were NO boats there and they have dockage with utility pedestals. We could not hail anyone on the radio. Finally called by phone...to learn their radio doesn't work. We could not tell where to go for diesel. Once they came out and attempted to direct us around the south side of the building and toward the back of the marina, we got as low as 1' and hit mud. Upon their suggestion we tried to inch even closer to the dock and still ran aground. Very unfortunate as they had a good price on diesel, but you have to be able to get to it.

Viewing the channel depths in Explorer with the USACE Overlays on shows depths of 3 feet or less.

Plan on potentially waiting a long time for this bridge. We've been waiting 45 minutes & a train just appeared. Then the train stopped on the bridge for another 10 minutes.

We enjoyed this anchorage. Our holding was GREAT! "If" there were strong winds I'm sure it would not be very protected but our night was perfect. I only had 2 bars on my cell with Verizon but we also have Starlink for wi-fi calling. Most of the shore is private docks but there is a restaurant that you could dinghy into for pets and/or food & drinks. We shared the anchorage with 3 other boats. Plenty of room. We anchored in 10 ft of water. We came in at high tide and left at high tide so had little issues with depth although at low tide you might. We draft only 3.8. We would definitely stay here again.

We are at this anchorage for a 2nd night. There are some derelict boats and several on private mooring balls. We went all the way past the commercial area of downtown down by the "mill." It depends in which way the boat swings how nice the scenery is. It is a working mill and it does produce an odor. It was not offensive to us, but you can definitely smell it. 2 FREE day docks to go ashore. Many restaurants for a small town. For us, it seemed shallow coming in at low tide, we saw some 3' (our draft is 3.8) but we never touched bottom. We entered from the North as Aqua Maps shows it with little to no depth on the south entrance of the tiny island. It's extremely convenient to dinghy in for shopping, dining or pet relief.

We really enjoyed this anchorage. Plenty of swing room. We went up a bit further because there was a sailboat anchored just off the entrance. Holding was great for us. Very tranquil. We didn't try to go ashore but you could for pet relief. It was difficult to tell the bank from the marsh but there was a private dock at the entrance so it's possible to reach land. We thoroughly enjoyed this anchorage and the beautiful sunset it provided.
