Not much here but good holding and plenty of room to spread out when the wind is out of the south. Disregard any previous comments about fishing here. If there were fish here, they are gone now.

Easy access to good shopping. Muddy bottom holds very good. Shore access at the Union Jack dock on the south side and another spot conveniently in front of the liquor store to the east slightly. On the north side the marina has a floating dock for customers. The Jib room restaurant is there and has decent food and clean restrooms. This is a good location to pick up visitors easily and feed them before bringing them aboard.

After a quick and unsuccessful swing through hometown harbor to find a mooring, we anchored right outside in a light and variable wind with no problems. It is very easy access into Hopetown via dinghy. A small dock on the west side of the harbor makes access to the historic lighthouse easy. The only downside is the big yachts frequently this area and the boat is tossed from sun up to sunset.

Great place to anchor when the wind is from the right direction. Easy dinghy ride to Tahiti beach to the south, or to white sound to the north. I recommend the Abaco Inn to shed the dinghy either at the beach or their dock. They have a great restaurant that you can see both sides of the island. The only downside to this anchorage is all the big yachts seem to frequent this area and the boat gets tossed around from sun up to sunset

Great place to drop anchor if the wind is out of the north through southeast. It makes for a short dingy ride in through the north entrance to the harbor that is too shallow to take a keelboat. Be careful when pulling up your anchor, it's easy to hook a telco cable in this area.

I pulled one cable up today, was able to dislodge it from the anchor easily enough.

This island has some of the best infrastructure I've seen in the Bahamas. The anchorages are good for all but heavy west winds. There is some filly action due to small boat traffic but it's not too bad. Going ashore requires taking the dinghy to the beach next to government dock. You cannot land on the dock itself, so be prepared for the beach landing. No surf though.

Overall great place to hide from the wind out of the east and southeast. We had over 30 knots of wind and holding was good. A lot of other boats use this anchorage. There is a beach to go shore but nothing else.

Good anchorage within dinghy range of Spanish Wells. Well protected from southerlies. Only downside is a lot of motorboat traffic comes through regularly making it rocky on occasion.

Hatchet bay has the best protection on Eleuthera I think. They have a great public dinghy dock but not much in infrastructure beyond that. There is a mini market but you will need a car or taxi to access other resources. There is a very good but expensive restaurant nearby called Front Porch. Food is great but drinks miss the mark.

Governors harbor offers great infrastructure, provisioning and restaurants. They do not have a public dock, so accessing the beach can be a non starter if the wind is from the wrong direction. If you want quality shore access via dinghy use the French Leave dock and patronize their services for that privilege.

Do not treat this like a marina, it's more of a private dinghy dock for those who patronize the hotel, restaurant and bar. They loaned us a golf cart to take to the nearby pink sand beach, which the hotel also owns a part of. Great experience and fantastic property.

The owners of Cap Eleuthera resort own this anchorage and no longer permit cruisers to anchor here due to liability reasons. They will find space in the resort if you need to get out of the weather.
