Excellent facility. Professional staff. Fair pricing (precise estimates). Fast thorough work, done extraordinarily well; ABYC certified techs. Courteous & hospitable yard crew and management.Our unexpected transmission replacement for our 42 year old vessel brought us to this facility by tow. Sourcing a transmission for a V-drive was handled expeditiously and the labor to prep and install done at high-quality levels; no shortcuts. Awesome kudos to the team we had.
Yard Manager: Shane, Travis: our Mechanic (fantastic). We were helped with various and sundry details by Jay (Service Coordinator), Shawna (office), Steve (travel lift), Jeff (post Tow, muffler check & drain).
The whole yard crew were positively remarkable [from simple courtesies, to offering lifts to local places]. Plus, this crew showed up at 0650 to hand-line our dead-in-the-water vessel from the dock to the travel lift well in order to make a 0700 haul out against an ebbing tide. Going back in the water was done with equal care, including listening to our request to make an adjustment to fit our particular hull needs in the slings. Mechanic Travis sea trialed (ICW-tested) the equipment onboard with us, before our work order was completed. And, we have been encouraged to check in with any of the Zimmerman yards north of us if ever we have questions, an issue or a need with this work (because "we stand by our work here, until it's right."

We are highly pleased with the work we received and the way we received it.

We stayed aboard (at dock and on the hard). Groceries (Food Lion, Walgreens) available within 1-2 miles (doable by bike; there is a taxi - no Uber). Great fresh fish off the dock in walking distance at Fish Peddler, and, Old Ferry SeafoodOther restaurants and amusements arw bikeable/taxiable along the strip mall and causeway road. Recommend taxi to Beach, (no sidewalk=bike lane)

I recently had the pleasure of working with Shane and his team at Zimmerman Marine in Holden Beach and cannot speak highly enough of their exceptional service and technical expertise. From start to finish, my experience with their team was nothing short of outstanding.

The technical competence of the staff at Zimmerman is truly impressive. Every member of their team possesses a deep understanding of boat maintenance and repair, and their skill set is evident in the quality of their work. Whether it was routine maintenance or more complex repairs (carpentry, fiberglass, shaft seals, thrusters, generators, and bottom paint), they handled each task with precision and professionalism.

One of the standout qualities of Zimmerman is their responsiveness. They understand the urgency and importance of keeping the work on schedule without sacrificing quality, and their prompt response to inquiries and service requests is remarkable. Shane kept me informed at every stage of the process, providing weekly updates and ensuring that all my questions were answered. There were no surprise costs unless they discussed it with me first. They were also very reachable anytime I called and were very friendly to talk to. Shane or J are always reachable and always helpful.

Reliability is another key strength of Zimmermen. They delivered on their promises, completing the work on time and within the agreed budget. Their transparent communication and commitment to excellence gave me confidence and peace of mind throughout the entire process.

In addition to their technical expertise, the team at Zimmerman is also incredibly friendly and approachable. They were all very easy to talk to and never made me feel like I was bothering them. They took the time to listen to my concerns, offer valuable advice, and ensure that I was completely satisfied with the results.

Overall, Zimmerman Marine sets the standard for boat maintenance and repair services. Their combination of technical expertise, responsiveness, and reliability makes them the go-to choice for any boat owner. I highly recommend Zimmerman Marine to anyone needing repairs on their boat. I have gone to Zimmerman three times, for work ranging from thru-hulls, painting and fiberglass, all the way to electronics and plumbing. Nick (the manager) is very good with communications and the team is friendly.

Zimmerman worked on my autopilot and spotlight as we passed thru Holden Beach. This is a great facility with excellent staff. They were able to fix my autopilot that several others could not make work properly. With numerous yards on the east coast they can set up work at another of their facilities and ensure the parts are there in time. Great work at great price.
