Florida ICW: St. Johns River to New Smyrna Beach, FL

The beach regions running south from Jacksonville are collectively referred to as the “First Coast” because this is the location of Florida's first European settlements. It vigorously competes with the Gold Coast, the Sun Coast and the Treasure Coast for developer and tourist dollars. The area begins a parade of shoreside communities such as Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach.
The ICW along this stretch features a mix of natural areas and exciting cities such as St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, and New Smyrna Beach.
