We traveled further in than the marked anchorage to the start of the lake with our 2.5' draft and 10' beam. Trees hang over the water much of the way in with 15' horizontal clearance between trees, in places. Lowest depth coming out 4' tide 0'. No place for the dog to play but easy to let him off on shore by dinghy. Quiet except for a few fisherman who generally didn't care about their wake. Cell service 1 bar with Verizon, wifi with a jetpack or phone not consistently available.

I would say that Three Rivers is an OK anchorage. It can easily fit 3 boats. It is deeper than we like to anchor (19'). It is wide enough to turn around. There are several branches that hang out of the water from the shore. It is quiet unless fishermen are going up or back from the lake. We enjoyed watching the barges go passed at night!

Entered creek mid-afternoon May 12, 2022. Water depths were good with more then 10ft in the middle between the banks. Fallen trees along both sides but our 53' Carver raised pilothouse had no trouble navigating between what I estimate was a 40+ ft open path. We traveled all the way through the narrow area to where the lake was visible ahead of us. However, we could not enter the lake due to shallow water. After 3 attempts to fine a path through for my 4'9" draft boat, we gave up, backed up about 100 ft and anchored to the port side (south) and tied stern to a downed tree. Very quite and peaceful until about 5:30am when numerous bass-type boats began speeding by. About 8:00am we pulled up anchor from what appeared to be sandy mud, turned around and headed back to the river. This is a very remote and primitive site and cell service using Verizon and T-Mobile hotspot was week.

Elevation at Leroy gage (mile 89.5) 4.77.

There is no room in the creek to anchor because of all the fallen trees. There was just enough room to get by them into the lake in our 40'x14' boat. We saw no less than 10' of water in the creek. No (Verizon) cell service.
Anchor came up a little muddy. Anchored in 15' (low tide) Needed a stern anchor to prevent swinging into shore.

On inspection we decided not to go into the lake. The entrance is narrow and deep so entry is no problem but, once in the lake there is a 5' bar at normal pool you need to cross. Given that the lake is subject to tides of about a foot, it is possible to enter and find yourself waiting the following day to get out. For shallow draft boats, the anchorage looks like it might be pretty good. We decided not to try anchoring in the entry as we were experiencing an engine problem and did not want to get stuck. Under different circumstances we would move 300-400 feet it to opening and anchor in the middle of the channel on the rise to the entrance bar. We did try to anchor at the mouth of the creek but found the depths to be too great (25'+) to make this an attractive alternative. After two tries in two different spots and not finding a satisfactory place to drop the anchor, we decided to move on to an alternate anchorage.

We anchored here in September 2016 at a time when the water level on the TennTom was low. Long narrow channel in was plenty deep. Once at the “lake” we made several attempts to cross the sand bar but finally got over. This place is still under tidal influence. Room for maybe three boats rafted. Bottom is sticky mud and takes a while to clean off chain/anchor. Had to wait for high tide to get out next morning. On the good side it is well protected from wind and wake.

This is a pretty good anchorage. It is sheltered, quite, peaceful and calm.
